There was a heated rivalry between the current WWE Champion Kofi Kingston and The Viper, Randy Orton ten years ago - both on and off-screen. Orton was the top heel of the company back then and Kingston was still a newcomer.

In 2019, WWE could easily book a WWE Championship match between Kingston and Orton. Kingston has overcome almost all challengers from the heel side of Smackdown Live. Now, at Extreme Rules, Kingston has to face RAW's Samoa Joe to extend his maiden world title reign to at least SummerSlam 2019. If WWE is looking for a challenger for Kingston, Orton is an automatic choice since he is still the top heel on Smackdown Live and scoring a win over the Apex Predator would legitimize Kofi's current reign further.

Since Kingston has shown us his darker side on the previous episode of Smackdown Live, we could see some extreme promos involving both Orton and Kingston leading to SummerSlam 2019.
