5 men most likely to win the Money in the Bank contract

Could one of these two men finally have his moment?
Could one of these two men finally have his moment?

A new season of WWE programming is currently in full swing and things are about to get very exciting, come June. Eight men and eight women will compete in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. The winner gets a contract that he/she can cash in at any time. I've already focused on the female competitors in a previous article.

Now let's look at the men who could potentially stand tall during this match and claim the Money in the Bank contract. As I'm writing this article, six of the eight men are already known. Also considering there are several weeks until the pay-per-view, the lineup could definitely change by then.

That said, I think these are the most likely superstars to win the Money in the Bank contract. Let me know your thoughts in the comments section.

Here is my potential list of candidates!

Special Mention: Dean Ambrose

This is the perfect stage for Ambrose to make his return!
This is the perfect stage for Ambrose to make his return!

Ambrose is currently injured and on the shelf. Fans have been yearning for his return on social media for many, many weeks now. Ambrose is known to be a private person and very little is known of his current status, both in terms of health and his potential comeback date. Could Money in the Bank be the stage for his return?

Yes, he's not one of the participants named by Kurt Angle for the big ladder match. At the same time, he could always be introduced at the last minute as the ninth participant. With so many weeks to go until the show, Ambrose could also maybe win his spot from one of the competitors.

Ambrose has already won the briefcase once before, of course. However, he might just be the most exciting prospect from this list, if he does return in time.

#5 Braun Strowman

Is Strowman the next Universal Champion?
Is Strowman the next Universal Champion?

You can't have Braun Strowman in a match and not name him as one of the favourites in the said match. The tallest, strongest and most menacing participant of Money in the Bank could certainly decimate his competition and come one step closer to the Universal Championship. After all, many fans have been pushing for him as the next Universal Champion anyway!

However, I just can't imagine Strowman with a briefcase looking for the right time to cash his contract in. He's too much of a 'monster among men', to play this role. While it's impossible to rule him out of contention, I think these other men are more likely to win the contract.

#4 Kevin Owens

Owens could definitely pick up a big win
Owens could definitely pick up a big win

There are many reasons that I think Kevin Owens will become Mr. Money in the Bank. And it's not just me...even Kurt Angle named him as his pick. Owens has Sami Zayn by his side and Zayn is someone who's never afraid to break or bend the rules. Also unlike Braun Strowman, he fits the profile of the sneaky superstar who'd await his cash-in opportunity.

More importantly, there is a bigger storyline at play here. Remember how Kevin Owens got added to the qualifying match because of Stephanie McMahon's support? There is some McMahon-Angle storyline in the works and Owens seems to be a major player in it.

Owens is no stranger to the Universal Championship. Could he become the first ever two time Universal Champion?

#3 The Miz

The Miz is the sneakiest of them all!
The Miz is the sneakiest of them all!

Everybody admires and appreciates what The Miz has done for the Intercontinental Championship in recent years. However, it may be time for the A-Lister to step it up a notch. The Miz could be absolute gold as Mr Money in the Bank. And yes, he'll make a fantastic WWE Champion too!

The Miz goes into the match as the underdog. However, his wily habits and cunning nature could help him scale the ladder when all others participants are occupied with each other.

#2 Big E

Have we seen the last of The New Day?
Have we seen the last of The New Day?

At one point, there was much gossip that Big E was next in line to be 'the guy'. However, Roman Reigns narrowly beat him to the spot. Rumours abound that this could very well be the beginning of Big E's singles push. The first step- winning the 'Money in the Bank' contract!

One of the New Day Members will make it to Money in the Bank. One of the rumours doing the rounds is that not only will this be Big E, he is also the favourite to win the whole thing too. I can certainly get behind this big push.

The New Day somehow just seems like it has run its course and is rather stale at the moment. It's time for the change, and for Big E to live his destiny!

#1 Finn Balor

Could we see the return of The Demon?
Could we see the return of The Demon?

He was the first ever Universal Champion. He gets one of the loudest pops every week. He is one of the best workers in the world. And yet, somehow, he's always left out of the mix.

I'm talking about Finn Balor, of course. Having a babyface win the contract and cash it in will be a welcome change from Baron Corbin and Carmella. Also, it would give fans who are becoming jaded with the current product someone to root for!

These are my five picks. Who are yours?

Do you think Finn Balor could be the next Mr Money in the Bank?
