5 new ideas for WrestleMania week

The show of shows is almost upon us
The show of shows is almost upon us

WrestleMania season is a glorious time for professional wrestling fans around the world because even if you aren’t a big WWE fan, there’s an abundance of great indie shows for those of you who fly into the host city during the week.

In addition to that WWE puts on a whole host of other events to ensure that you get your money’s worth, but as we all know, things can always be better. Because of that ideology, we’ve decided to take a swing at thinking up some fresh ideas that the company should implement over the course of the next few years.

Some are a little bit unrealistic and others would probably require a great deal of work, but in a way, isn’t that what Mania is all about? After all, we’ve learned to expect the unexpected.

With all of that being said, here are our five new ideas for WrestleMania week.

#1 WaleMania Partnership

WaleMania is always a lot of fun
WaleMania is always a lot of fun

WaleMania is one of the most underrated events on the wrestling calendar because it mixes together the industry we love with a party-like atmosphere. Wale, who began this venture back at WrestleMania 31 in San Jose, is set to host the fourth edition of the event this year in New Orleans and we highly suggest that you all consider attending.

Regardless of that, though, it seems as if more and more WWE Superstars are attending the event on a yearly basis. Considering that so many of them decide to check it out, surely it would make sense for WWE to somewhat join in on the fun so that they can officially send some of the guys and girls to the event.

After all, they’ve already had Wale on SmackDown Live.

#2 National Appreciation

Fans travel from around the world to watch the show
Fans travel from around the world to watch the show

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: WWE needs to recognise just how many fans from countries around the globe travel to watch the spectacle that is WrestleMania.

Whether it be through an international exhibition at Axxess or a special call-out to each country during Mania itself, we’d love to see some of the true hardcore fans being recognised at the biggest wrestling event of the year. Sure, some of them get to feature in video packages and the WWE 24 Mania specials, but we’ve got to question whether that’s enough in the present day.

P.S: An extra bit of love from the ultra-dedicated UK fans wouldn’t go amiss.

#3 Travel Package Exclusivity

Buying a travel package requires some serious dedication
Buying a travel package requires some serious dedication

The WrestleMania travel packages are a wonderful idea on WWE’s behalf, which is the reason why so many fans choose to buy them instead of purchasing everything separately. It lowers the stress level due to not having to compete against thousands of fans for tickets, and it’s just more practical all around.

However, package holders need to be given some more exclusivity because buying them really is a big commitment of both time and money. For example, at WM33 they were given tickets to Universal Studios, and we feel as if the same kind of thing should be done on a yearly basis based on the host city.

Hashtag justice for travel packagers.

#4 Future Manias Poll

Where should Mania be held? You decide
Where should Mania be held? You decide

WWE seems to be falling into some kind of ‘pattern’ so to speak when it comes to the host venues for WrestleMania. With the Citrus Bowl and the Mercedes-Benz Superdome being joined by MetLife Stadium as repeat stadium hosts, we feel as if it’s time that the WWE Universe had their say regarding where Mania should be held.

So what better way to find out than by having fans who actually attend Mania on a year to year basis vote? There can be a booth set up at Axxess, kind of like during an election, where guys and girls of all ages can voice their opinion to the higher-ups at WWE.

We’d likely come away with a lot of suggestions, but perhaps then WWE can see the demand from certain cities regarding the showcase of the immortals.

#5 HOF Golden Ticket

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony is probably the one event which most fans don’t mind missing. Whether it be because they don’t want to sit and listen to induction speaks or because they just want to do something else with their time, the HOF tends to be forgotten about in the grand scheme of the week.

An interesting way to change that would be to hide five ‘golden tickets’ throughout the host city, before giving clues over social media as to where they are. The recipients of these golden tickets would be able to go backstage at the ceremony in addition to being able to walk the red carpet, meaning that they could meet a variety of legends from both past and present.

It would quite literally be a wrestling fan’s equivalent to entering Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.
