Will The American Nightmare once again turn this story around?
After initially turning heel on Kenny Omega and The Golden Lovers in particular at NJPW: New Beginning, ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes instantly became one of the hottest heels in the world of Pro Wrestling, if not the hottest heel on the planet and Cody’s heel antics were so brilliant that a Pro Wrestling fan would’ve been bound to absolute despite ‘The American Nightmare’.
Look who just shut down all of Tony Khan's critics! More HERE.
Rhodes, however, completed his official face turn in San Francisco this past weekend, when he finally made peace with Kenny Omega, despite being given the offer to join The Firing Squad by Tama Tonga. But, after having such an amazing and mean run as a heel, it is truly impossible to assume Cody as a face and ally with Kenny Omega of all people, surely there’s more to this story right?

Well, judging by this following image, it did seem like Cody’s apparent plan was indeed to hit Omega with the steel chair after he was done with The Firing Squad.
Is Cody looking to swing on Omega here?
However, simultaneously this also brings up a question in all of our minds that why would Cody want to do that and why would he want to hit Omega with the chair after-all the chaos that just unfolded in front of his eyes?

This could very well mean that either Cody could potentially ride solo without the need of any sort of faction or Cody’s plan was to take out both The Firing Squad AND Kenny Omega as well, in order to make way for his own path towards the leadership of The Bullet Club.
Looks like only time will tell how all of this is eventually going to unfold and which side Cody is actually on.
