#2 Adam Cole
The Herald of Doomsday has made the initial impact by taking down a former NXT Champion, and he could well be on his way to aim for the top of NXT. Adam Cole fought off The Velveteen Dream to defend his NXT Championship on the same NXT TakeOver: In Your House event in which Karrion Kross made his TakeOver debut.
While fans will remember Cole’s defense in the cinematic match against The Dream, the event will go down in history as the one in which Kross made his TakeOver debut and dominated The Blackheart.
NXT Champion Adam Cole needs to watch his back
Cole’s victory now allows him to not care about Dream anymore as he will be getting no more shots at The Panama City Playboy’s title as long as he stays the champion. However, that only makes things difficult for Cole with someone like Kross on the loose.
The NXT Universe could see Kross go after the NXT Champion next and attack the Superstar while the other members of the Undisputed Era are busy fighting off Dexter Lumis. This would provide Kross the perfect opening to get in contention for the NXT Championship early in his career and give him a chance to establish himself as a main-eventer.
