Will it become the third brand in 2018?

So 2017 is almost over and like every other year, NXT delivered on every front. They produced quality storylines and gave us some epic NXT TakeOvers with some unforgettable moments like the debut of Adam Cole, breakup of Gargano and Ciampa, the War Games match and many more. But more importantly, on the way, they created several superstars that can make a great career from their current NXT run.

Though the list of possible main eventers is very long because of the deep and very talented NXT Roster, here are the 5 NXT superstars who will rock 2018.

#5 Kairi Sane

Kairi Sane formerly known as Kairi Hojo was a standout performer in Japan's Stardom and made an instant impact on WWE by winning the inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament. She signed a three-year deal with WWE and was part of a fatal 4-way title match at NXT Takeover: War Games.

She is now a full-time member of the NXT roster and destined for a great future in WWE. Many are looking for her feud with Shayna Baszler the runner-up of Mae Young Classic tournament, who also signed a WWE contract and will make her debut soon.

This feud can elevate both the wrestlers and because Sane is one of the best wrestlers in the world and has tons of charisma, she will definitely make it big in 2018.

#4 Killian Dain

A monster is rising

The next generation of monsters is way different than their counterparts from previous eras. They run like athletes and fly like a cruiserweight, therefore, Killian Dain is no exception. He replaced Sawyer Fulton in Sanity, at that time many people didn't know what he could do in the ring, but as the time progressed, he impressed everyone with his performance. He delivered a freaking coast to coast in the War Games match, a move only performed by Shane O Mac and RVD.

There were several rumours this year that Sanity is getting a call-up to the main roster but that didn't happen but possibly they will debut next year. Imagine a feud between Braun Strowman and Killian Dain and how many tickets that will sell in any arena.

#3 Peyton Royce and Billie Kay

It cant get more iconic than this
It can't get more iconic than this

The iconic duo of Peyton Royce and Billie Kay are ready for their main roster glory. Many expected them to make their debut along with Paige but that didn't happen as these ladies have very well defined characters and they should not follow a leader. They were a great heel team that got over with their great heel work and are now ready for a face turn.

That was evident by the pop that Peyton Royce received at NXT Takeover: War Games. Both are very good wrestlers and possess some impeccable mic skills and will be a great fit for the Smackdown as the women's roster in Smackdown lacks some character development and these two can make it iconic.

#2 Pete Dunne

Forget about cruiserweight its time for the bruiserweight
Forget about cruiserweight its time for the bruiserweight.

Pete Dunne was a superstar from the moment he faced his first opponent in the inaugural WWE UK Championship Tournament. He didn't win the tournament but with his in-ring work and heel persona, he looked ready for NXT or main roster at that time.

However, nothing substantial followed the tournament. As all the talented guys from the UK roster wandered around for random matches, but the popularity of Pete Dunne only increased and after a stellar match against Tyler Bate in NXT TakeOver: Chicago, he won the WWE UK title.

Dunne Debuted on the main roster against Enzo Amore and squashed him in a short match, unfortunately, that was not a proper call-up but just a ploy to make the home crowd happy. Currently, Dunne is performing more frequently in weekly NXT programming and house shows that means WWE knows his worth and working on his actual main roster call-up.

#1 Aleister Black

Black mass outta nowhere

Aleister Black formerly known as Tommy End made his NXT debut at NXT Takeover: Orlando and defeated Andrade Cien Almas, who is the current NXT Champion. The packaging of Black from the get-go was tremendous, his theme song and entrance were mesmerizing. The guy was from kickboxing and MMA background, so WWE allowed him to use similar wrestling style. Later on, he defeated some big names like Kassius Ohno, Hideo Itami, Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish.

His biggest obstacle, however, came when he feuded with Velveteen Dream. Together they produced a Match Of The Year contender at NXT Takeover: War Games. Black showed that he had the skills to tell a story in the ring and could change his hard-hitting wrestling style to a mat-based grappling feast. Many consider him the soon to be NXT Champion and that should and will happen in 2018.
