5 photos the WWE doesn't want you to see

In case you haven’t noticed, the WWE has become more than a little obsessed with maintaining the clean cut image of the company since the decision to switch over to PG-13. It is now a far cry from the days of the Ruthless Aggression Era and the Attitude Era.

But, there are always incidents which tend to tarnish this image. While the company does its best to avoid these instances, a number of them are photographed and captured forever.

While the WWE would like these images to be destroyed forever, the age of the internet ensures that these pictures are never lost, and Vince McMahon and co will have to hope that not too many people stumble upon these reputation destroyers.

So, without further ado, here are five photos the WWE doesn’t want you to see:

#5) Dean Ambrose as a jobber

Before he made an explosive debut on the main roster of the WWE as a member of The Shield, Dean Ambrose wrestled across the indy scene as Jon Moxley. Still very much in touch with his lunatic side even back then, Moxley was the indy scene version of Mick Foley with a love for strange hair.

Back in 2006, he was roped into a WWE show as a jobber for MNM – remember, the team of Joey Mercury, Melina, and Johnny Nitro? – and someone not only got a picture of it on camera, they managed to get the picture we see above.

Not only is one of the WWE’s current top stars sporting a bright pink ponytail hairstyle, but he also looks like he’s doing his best impression of a pig. Considering Ambrose’s current status as one of the top performers on the Smackdown roster, the WWE will want this picture forgotten right quick.

#4) The Undertaker at an airport

Doesn’t look like the legendary Undertaker at all

Despite the age of kayfabe being long dead, The Undertaker remains one of the few remaining relics from a bygone era. He is the most protected Superstar in the world when it comes to his image, and the WWE will want to keep it that way until he finally hangs up his wrestling boots.

Unfortunately for the company, The Deadman cannot always be in character and there are times when he has been spotted looking just like any other older gentleman.

This picture of The Phenom absolutely desecrates the image wrestling fans have of one of the most famous wrestlers to have ever graced a squared circle. While the WWE might start becoming a little more lax with pictures like this one once Mark Callaway retires, they’ll want to maintain the air of mysticism for as long as he is still wrestling – even if it is only a few times a year.

#3) The Roman Reigns mugshot

Reigns was young and stupid when this happened

Roman Reigns is the golden boy of the WWE. Roman Reigns is the future John Cena – the man who will become the face of the company. Roman Reigns also has a criminal record. Yes, The Big Dog has been arrested.

Reigns was brought in for Public Intoxication before he joined up with the WWE. Sure, it happened well before his time with the company, you might say, but the WWE doesn’t see it that way.

It is incredibly embarrassing for the company that their top guy – the guy that they have earmarked as the lead babyface for the next decade – has been arrested. It is completely against everything the company stands for in its current PG avatar.

Oh, how the WWE wishes we were back in the days before the internet existed. Vince McMahon must long for the good old days when he sees this picture pop up from time to time.

#2) The John Cena and Stephanie McMahon promo

Doesn’t exactly paint either party in a great light

If Roman Reigns is the future babyface of the company, then John Cena is very much the present. Having been the most valuable member of the roster for well over a decade, Cena is Mr WWE. Just look at how much he does for the company which made him into a global megastar.

But, this wasn’t always the case. Before his run as a babyface, Cena’s Doctor of Thuganomics avatar was one of a trash-talking rapper who had a reputation for being edgy. One of his promos during this time - with Stephanie McMahon, no less - still haunts the WWE.

It was an incredibly awkward segment which resulted in Cena spanking Steph on the bottom. The future Chief Brand Officer of the company and the face of the company engaged in a distasteful segment and Vince must wish this never happened.

#1) The Katie Vick fiasco

What was the WWE thinking?

The single worst angle the WWE has ever produced in its long and infamous history is the one involving Katie Vick. When Triple H was feuding with Kane, he insinuated that Kane had accidentally killed a woman named Katie Vick.

He then dressed up in Kane’s mask and pretended to have sex with a mannequin dressed up as Katie. This picture is one of the most damning pieces of evidence that sometimes wrestling is very very messed up, and it’s something the WWE wants to be forgotten forever.
