WWE loves to get more and more publicity no matter how it comes. Whether it's through a break out Superstar like Becky Lynch, a major signing such as Ronda Rousey, or a huge controversy, the company doesn’t mind any sort of publicity as long as they stay in the news.

To continue getting publicity, the company has booked many matches between their Superstars and big celebrities or athletes from other sports. Big Show was always been at the forefront whenever the company wanted a man from another sport to cross over to the WWE ring and fought in some huge matches from the company.

At WrestleMania 21, Big Show faced Sumo Grand Champion Akebono in order to attract the Japanese audience. At WrestleMania 24, Show faced off against legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather. Both times Show lost in his matches but did great service for his company.

With Show’s absence, WWE has booked an angle between Braun Strowman and Tyson Fury. The two men will now collide at Crown Jewel on October 31, and provide the crowds of Saudi Arabia even more to look forward to.

Strowman seems to be fitting into Big Show’s role well here too and taking on the big men from other sports to bring more attention to his company. Strowman is in a similar position as Big Show was during his peak, as even a loss for Strowman won’t really damage his character at this point.
