What does the future have in store for Dean Ambrose?

It is clear that if Dean Ambrose does return to WWE in 6 months, it will not be for a mid-card run. Ambrose has been one of the most beloved players for the company thus far and if he does return, he will go straight to the top of the food chain almost at once. As stacked as the roster is, there's always a spot for Ambrose at the top of the food chain.

I think one way of having him make an instant impression would be to win the Royal Rumble. And this is a likely possibility because nobody would bat an eyelid if Ambrose were to win the whole thing and challenge one of the two WWE world champions.
If Seth Rollins is still the Universal Champion at that point in time, then this is a no-brainer. Even if Reigns holds one of the titles, I can see Ambrose challenging his best friend.
