"Its true. its damn true!"

Those were the words uttered by a terrified Kurt Angle after announcing that Brock Lesnar would defend his title against Braun Strowman and Kane in a Triple Threat match at The Royal Rumble. The decision came after Kane and Braun Strowman were both counted out during a brutal number one contenders match, when we saw the two absolutely destroy each other.

With that being said, the booking decision opens the door to a lot of possibilities for the blockbuster match on 28 January and while many fans expect Lesnar to walk out of the pay-per-view with the title, there is still the question of how exactly he accomplishes that. Furthermore, what impact will this match have on WrestleMania 34?

While its impossible to know for sure what will happen when these three Goliaths do battle at the Royal Rumble, here are five possible outcomes for the match. Some may surprise you, but try to keep an open mind and realise that there are a lot of different paths that WWE can take on The Road to WrestleMania 34.

#5 Braun Strowman pins Kane to win The Universal Title

Maybe not an incredibly likely option, especially since the rumored match for WrestleMania 34 is Roman Reigns versus Brock Lesnar, but it would definitely be a great way to shake up the title picture heading into 'The Show of Shows'. It also allows for a triple threat match at WrestleMania 34 between Reigns, Lesnar and Strowman.

Sure, the outcome would probably be the same and Reigns would come out of it all with the Universal title, but think about how much a main event opportunity like that would strengthen Strowman's stock in the company. Finally, it also makes it so Reigns can beat Lesnar, but keep the rivalry between Strowman and Reigns going for the title.

In the end, it would be an interesting shakeup and a great opportunity for Strowman, but only if WWE is willing to do it the right way and not hurt anyone in the process.

#4 Braun Strowman pins Brock Lesnar and wins the Universal Title

This would basically be the same result as the last slide, but with the difference being that Strowman goes over Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. Again, a very unlikely option if the rumour of Reigns versus Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 is to be believed, but it would be a great way to establish Strowman as the biggest beast in the business.

This also sets up Reigns versus Strowman at WrestleMania 34, which would be a great continuation of their feud throughout the last year. Add in the prestige of the Universal title and a baby face Roman Reigns finally slaying a beast, and you have one of the most exciting WrestleMania main events of all time.

#3 Kane defeats Braun Strowman or Brock Lesnar to win The Universal title

Hopefully this idea never sees the light of day, but if WWE is looking to kill the momentum of both Strowman and Lesnar, there would be no better way to do that then to give the victory to 'The Big Red Machine'. Not only would this completely make no sense from the standpoint of what WWE wants to do at WrestleMania 34, it only makes an older talent look good.

In the end, its really not worth wasting that much time on this possibility and unless WWE is completely tone deaf to what sets up a great WrestleMania main event, this outcome will absolutely never happen. If it does however, it will probably be a bigger disaster than Reigns versus Triple H and Reigns versus Brock Lesnar put together.

Please don't do it WWE! Think of the fans!

#2 Brock Lesnar defeats Braun Strowman to retain the Universal Title with an assist from Kane

While a win for Brock Lesnar seems imminent, it feels like WWE would be cheating Strowman and his monumental push over the past year if they have him take another clean loss Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. With that in mind and WWE likely setting up Strowman for something big at WrestleMania 34, this doesn't seem very likely at all.

With that being said, having Kane cost Strowman the match at the last possible second would be a great way to not only make Strowman look strong in defeat, it also sets up a grudge match between Strowman and Kane that could play out on the biggest stage of them all. Needless to say a WrestleMania moment would soon follow for Strowman.

#1 Brock Lesnar retains The Universal Title by defeating Kane with an assist from Strowman

Not only is this the most likely option for the title match between Strowman, Lesnar and Kane at The Royal Rumble, especially since it allows Lesnar and Strowman to look strong and not take a loss heading into 'The Show of Shows', it also sets up the possibility of a final match between Kane and Strowman as well.

Of course that's not the only booking option for Strowman at WrestleMania 34, but it seems like the easiest considering how popular and brutal the feud between Strowman and Kane has been over the past month. Not only that, it also allows Lesnar a clean transition into his championship match at WrestleMania 34 as well.

In the end, this seems like the best option for all parties involved and while Kane has been booked strongly against Strowman, and even Lesnar at times this year, anything other than Kane taking the pin at the Royal Rumble would be a complete disaster. Furthermore, it would be a disservice to everyone involved and the fans.

What are your thoughts? Do you think Kane needs to take the pin in this match? What about Strowman? Should he walk out of the Royal Rumble with the Universal Title around his waist and head into WrestleMania 34 as the champion?
