Could Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez challenge for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship soon?

Since Dakota Kai turned heel and attacked her former Team Kick partner Tegan Nox at NXT TakeOver: War Games, she has been dominating NXT with Raquel Gonzalez at her side. Could they be eyeing their next targets on the WWE main roster?

At first, Gonzalez appeared to act as more of a manager to Kai, although she began involving herself in her new ally's matches to help her win. More recently, the duo have teamed up in tag matches and have been successful on numerous occasions.

Since Kai turned heel, she has been racking up the wins on NXT. Both Kai and Gonzalez are yet to win a championship in WWE, despite the former having a recent shot at the NXT Women's Championship against Io Shirai.

Back when Shayna Baszler was an NXT star, she had an ongoing rivalry against Kai. During this time, Baszler was a monster heel and Kai was an underdog face character, but now they have both switched it up, with the latter acting in a villainous way and Baszler becoming more of a tweener in recent months.

With the history between the pair and them now being part of tag teams, it would be fantastic for Kai and Gonzalez to have a shot at the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.
