5 possible opponents for Dean Ambrose when he returns

Counting the days to his return

Monday nights don't quite seem the same without 'The Lunatic Fringe', Dean Ambrose. He is one Superstar that the WWE has always been banking on when it comes to television time. His in-ring presence and promos are so gripping that the WWE Universe gets behind him as soon as they hear his entrance theme play.

He is arguably one of the best entertainers in the business and every episode that goes by without him leaves the fans with a sense that something is definitely missing in the product.

Dean Ambrose suffered a tricep injury in December on an episode of Raw and is said to return only after nine months. This seems to be too long a period for someone of his caliber to be kept on the sidelines.

In this day and age where a wrestler may well be forgotten if he doesn't show up on two successive episodes, Ambrose has given the WWE Universe a lot of memories to keep him in their minds. Whenever it is that he may be set to return, expect nothing less than the crowd to go berserk when they hear that motor running in his entrance.

Here are 5 possible wrestlers Ambrose could feud with when he returns.

#5 Finn Balor

There's a first time for everything
There's a first time for everything

The crowd would lose their minds if this match is to be set up. Both Superstars are agile and have an immense number of moves in their arsenal. Imagine Balor cutting a promo about why he should be Intercontinental Champion (a title which should probably be held by Seth Rollins at that time) and being interrupted by a returning Dean Ambrose to the biggest pop of the year.

This match could be used to test Ambrose and for him to prove to the WWE Universe that he hasn't missed a step since his injury. If the WWE books this feud right, there's no reason why the fans won't be invested in it. With Dean picking up the win after a hard fought battle, Balor could summon the "Demon" in him and with the help of his Balor Club brothers make life tough for Dean Ambrose by turning heel and stopping at nothing till he gets his hands on the gold.

#4 Seth Rollins

One more time!
One more time!

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose have put up amazing feuds previously. Their feud for the WWE Title kept the crowd glued and intrigued. Ambrose and Rollins have a chemistry that is a class apart. Both of them have impeccable mic skills and are part of a few selected Superstars that the crowd actually listens to. This match is set to keep fans on their toes as these two Superstars know each other like the back of their hands.

A returning Ambrose can interrupt Seth Rollins going on about how he's still the reason why the crowd buys tickets every Monday night and while others wallow in their injuries, he has "redesigned, rebuilt and reclaimed" what was his. Ambrose interrupting Rollins and delivering a Dirty Deeds to him is just about enough to ignite this feud. The two of them are the most versatile wrestlers the business has to offer and one more match or series of matches between them is what would be best for business.

#3 Jason Jordan

How could you take my place?
How could you take my place?

Even though Jason Jordan is out of action and nothing has been said about his potential return, he's not someone who can be written off just because of his absence. His latest stint as Seth Rollins' partner and his in-ring performance has made him a wrestler to watch out for in the future.

By portraying him as Raw General Manager, Kurt Angle's son, one can see that the WWE has invested in him and is quite possibly going to do whatever they can to get him into the limelight.

This feud practically writes itself. A returning Ambrose could be having a fun reunion with his brothers, The Shield, when their celebration gets cut short by a displeased Jason Jordan. Jordan gets into the ring and blames Ambrose for just coming back and thinking nothing has changed. Jordan proclaims himself as a better third member of The Shield and goes for their signature fist pose. Dean finds this amusing and tells Jordan to go back let the celebration continue. Jordan turns psychotic and starts beating Dean up which broken up with the other members of The Shield. And just like that, Jordan and Ambrose begin a feud.

#2 Samoa Joe

En
Can't keep him down

'The Samoan Submission Machine' has been out of action since January this year. He had suffered a foot injury in his match on Raw. Joe has been in the title picture since his debut on Raw but never being able to capture it. His feud with Roman Reigns had a lot of potential, but he ended up injured before it could really take off. He kept feuding with The Shield along with The Bar on his side. His return date hasn't been confirmed yet but the day he does return, expect him to throw bodies all over the place.

Samoa Joe and Dean Ambrose have faced each other in a singles match on Raw before but there was quite a bit of interference from Jason Jordan. The two of them have never gotten a chance to really go at it in the WWE ring. With Joe's strength and Ambrose's acrobatic stints, the WWE Universe would definitely be kept on the edge of their seats for this one. Samoa Joe can hit hard and Dean Ambrose knows how to take a beating and come back fighting. Expect this match to be what good old JR would call a "Slobber Knocker".

#1 Braun Strowman

This would be quite a spectacle
This would be quite a spectacle

'The Monster Among Men' has been a huge hit with the WWE Universe ever since he parted ways with The Wyatt Family. He has feuded with the best the company has to offer in recent times and gives his opponents a run for their money. By adding Braun Strowman in any match, the match automatically becomes a crowd attraction. May it be his squash matches or flipping over vehicles, Strowman has established himself as a legitimate Superstar in the industry.

Dean Ambrose is known as the 'Lunatic Fringe' for a reason. He is possibly the only Superstar in the locker room crazy enough to willfully provoke Strowman. The two of them have faced off before but Strowman wasn't seen as the monster he is now. Ambrose never shies away from a big man and is always ready to take bumps and get beaten to a pulp. Ambrose's resilience can be the key selling point in this feud. Ambrose is so good with the mic that he can taunt Strowman week in and week out to push Strowman to his limit and keep him on his toes.
