5 Potential candidates for the Raw General Manager position following TLC

WWE has a number of options for the soon to be vacant position

At TLC, Baron Corbin is set to take on Braun Strowman in a match that will decide his future as an authority figure on Monday Night Raw. If the General Manager Elect loses his match to The Monster Among Men then the position will be taken away from him, whilst a win would allow him to become the General Manager after months of pushing Stephanie McMahon to give him the post full time.

Corbin is outmatched by Strowman and it is thought that even if The Monster Among Men is unable to compete in San Jose on December 16th, then WWE will find a way to add the stipulation onto the replacement match and Corbin will still lose his place.

Corbin hasn't been a credible General Manager for months, but luckily WWE has a number of options when it comes to replacements for the former United States Champion.

#5 Matt Hardy

Would Woken Matt Hardy make a difference on Raw?

Matt Hardy is perhaps one of the more shocking names on this list, but since the former Champion is unable to compete for WWE physically through injury, a stint on-screen as an authority figure could be interesting for him.

Hardy himself decided to put the idea into the heads of the WWE Universe earlier this week when he Tweeted about how much better he would be as a General Manager than Baron Corbin and it's hard to argue with him. His former teammate Bray Wyatt even added that he thought it was a brilliant idea.

Hardy's Woken character would definitely add a new dimension to the brand if only for a short time and if he picks up a feud whilst there, at least there is the option that it could be settled in the ring.

#4 Paul Heyman

Could WWE give Paul Heyman a new role on TV?
Could WWE give Paul Heyman a new role on TV?

Paul Heyman has been one of the best promo deliverers in WWE for the past few decades, but he has stuck by the side of Brock Lesnar which means that there are certain restraints on when he can appear.

Heyman is no stranger to General Manager duties having already been at the helm of ECW and SmackDown Live in the past, but this could be something for him to really get his teeth into. There have been teases from Heyman and Lesnar over the past year that their friendship isn't as solid as many believe and if that's the case then Heyman will need something to do on WWE TV moving forward when Lesnar no longer needs him.

Heyman is a talent that WWE needs to utilize much more and the fact that he can then take stars under his wing at the same time and build up some new Heyman guys would just add to the reasons why Heyman is the perfect man for the job.

#3 Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens is the kind of curveball that WWE likes to throw in as part of these kinds of situations, especially since it's obvious that Owens and Stephanie McMahon have been on the same page for a while.

McMahon brought Owens over to Raw when he was fired from SmackDown Live and she is also aware of the abuse that her father and brother suffered at the hands of The Prizefighter, so what better way to prove her dominance on Raw than to give Owens an authoritative position?

Owens recently underwent double knee surgery which means that he will be out of the ring until at least WrestleMania, so he has plenty of time to build up a rivalry to make his in-ring return and enough time to prove that he has more personality than most of the Raw roster and would be the perfect person for the job.

#2 Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss has already proved that she could take on the role

It has been teased over the past few weeks that Alexa Bliss could be given the reins of Monday Night Raw in the future, especially since she was recently given control of the Women's Division, which could be a trial run for The Goddess before the company allows her to take over full time.

Bliss has been sidelined since Hell in a Cell after suffering an arm injury and a concussion but yesterday she updated her Instagram to show that she was back in the ring and hopefully pushing for her return. This means that Bliss has become one of the more questionable replacements, especially since she's heel much like Corbin and the WWE Universe will want a face to take over otherwise nothing will change on Raw.

AJ Lee proved that female wrestlers are able to control WWE's flagship show, but it's unclear as to whether or not this is the path for Little Miss Bliss.

#1 Roman Reigns

Could Roman Reigns become Raw's new authority figure?
Could Roman Reigns become Raw's new authority figure?

Roman Reigns was forced to walk away from WWE last month when he revealed that he had been diagnosed with leukaemia. The former World Champion has felt the full support of the WWE Universe throughout his illness and started treatment a few weeks ago. Despite rumours that Reigns won't be back in WWE for a number of years, it would be interesting to see if there was a way for Reigns to return to the company in a different capacity.

Of course, Reigns would be able to attend every show, but he would be able to be part of the business once again and he wouldn't have to in the ring, so it may not hinder his treatment. A return for Reigns is a long way off, but a return as an authority figure could be much closer if the company are able to work out a deal with The Big Dog.
