5 potential finishes for Alexa Bliss vs Nia Jax - RAW Women's Championship

Nia Jax will challenge for the Raw Women's title at WrestleMania 34

With WWE WrestleMania 34 almost upon us, we are taking a look at five potential finishes that could take place in some of the featured matches at this year’s event.

In this article, we focus on the grudge match between former best friends Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax over the Raw Women’s Championship.

Will “Little Miss Bliss” extend her seven-month reign with the title? Or will Nia finally prevail and win her first championship in WWE on “The Grandest Stage of Them All”?

#5 Mickie James helps Alexa Bliss retain

Mickie James has been Alexa's sidekick since February

Alexa Bliss has been Raw Women’s champion since defeating Sasha Banks for the title on Raw in August 2017, meaning she is currently the second longest-reigning titleholder in WWE (after Brock Lesnar).

With that in mind, her lengthy reign with the title will surely come to an end at WrestleMania, especially when you consider that Nia Jax is yet to hold a championship in NXT or WWE.

There’s no way Alexa (5ft 1in) will defeat Nia (6ft) clean, so the only way the champion can realistically retain is if Mickie James gets involved when the referee is distracted to help her win.

#4 Mickie James turns against Alexa Bliss

The two women were feuding just five months ago

Alexa Bliss and Mickie James have had an up-and-down friendship over the last year, starting when Alexa brought the veteran back to WWE as her ally in the build-up to WrestleMania 33.

Their relationship soon derailed, though, and the two Superstars were involved in a rivalry over the Raw Women’s title in late 2017, culminating with Alexa defeating Mickie in two title matches in October.

Despite their battles in the past, they are back on the same page heading into WrestleMania, but for how long? The friendship still feels a little false (why are they suddenly friends again?!) and it wouldn’t be too surprising to see Mickie cost Alexa on Sunday, either on purpose or inadvertently, allowing Nia Jax to get the win.

#3 Carmella cashes in her Money In The Bank contract and pins Alexa Bliss

Carmella needs to cash in her Money In The Bank contract soon

Carmella is a SmackDown Live Superstar, so technically she isn’t allowed to cash in her Money In The Bank contract during a Raw Women’s title match… or is she?

“The Princess of Staten Island” has been carrying the briefcase since June 2017 and she only has two months left to cash in before her contract opportunity expires at the next Money In The Bank PPV, which takes place on 17 June.

Based on past MITB reigns, her cash-in will be successful, but can anyone really see her cashing in for the SmackDown Women’s title in the next couple of months, possibly ending Asuka’s undefeated streak in the process?

WWE has used the phrase “championship opportunity” (note: not specifying SmackDown) when addressing Carmella’s MITB contract situation recently, so perhaps it’s not against the rules for her to challenge for the Raw Women’s title, after all!

#2 Nia Jax wins in less than 60 seconds

Nia Jax often defeats her opponents in quick fashion

WrestleMania is full of surprises every year and, sadly for some performers, that might mean they are asked to lose a match in embarrassingly quick fashion (Chavo Guerrero and Daniel Bryan spring to mind).

Looking at the card for this year’s event, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if almost every match lasts 10+ minutes, with the exception being Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax.

The WWE Universe has been waiting for the villainous Raw Women’s champion to finally get her comeuppance from Nia for the last few weeks, and the most humiliating way for “Little Miss Bliss” to lose to her former best friend would be in a shocking squash match that lasts less than 60 seconds.

#1 Nia Jax wins despite interference from Mickie James

Mickie James will be part of the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal in New Orleans, but she’s also bound to feature at some point in the Raw Women’s title match between Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax.

James and Bliss have been inseparable lately, with the veteran either teaming with her reunited best friend or fighting battles for her against Asuka and Nia on Raw in recent weeks, so she’ll surely be ringside for the match.

As nice as it would be to see one of the previous outlandish suggestions happen at WrestleMania, perhaps WWE will opt for a straightforward finish to the match instead, with Nia countering interference from Mickie before picking up a dominant win over Alexa with a series of leg drops.
