WWE Backlash 2018: 5 potential finishes for Strowman & Lashley vs. Owens & Zayn

Many expected Bobby Lashley to be Braun Strowman's tag team partner at WrestleMania 34. Everyone was thrilled at the idea of these two monsters forming a seemingly invincible alliance. Since then, these two men have teamed up on several occasions. They are a true WWE powerhouse tag team unit.

In the other corner are two other sensational superstars- Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Owens and Zayn do not size up in terms of might, but they are just as wily as they come. This is a very interesting contest that could go several ways.

#5 Owens and Zayn have a sudden fall out

Owens and Zayn are always better when working one another

Owens and Zayn are the best of friends in real life. They've come up from the independents together and have incredible chemistry when they're allied. Honestly speaking, they have even better chemistry when they are opponents. Every time they work each other, the matches are absolute classics.

Could WWE want to split the twosome up so that they can have a great program against each other down the line on RAW? After all, they've been teammates for a while now and we may have seen everything they can accomplish as a tag team unit. Booking them against each other can infuse new life into both these men.

Of course, if there is dissension in the ranks, it would mean that Lashley and Strowman would make quick work of this tag team. This is an unlikely but highly entertaining scenario.

#4 Owens and Zayn win the match

Could Zayn and Owens pick up a lucky win?

On paper, Owens and Zayn are the underdogs heading into the match. Keep in mind though, that Owens is a former Universal Champion and Zayn is a top-tier superstar. Even though Lashley is 'The Dominator', he sold for Owens and Zayn in the 6-Man Tag Team on RAW. Could Owens and Zayn pick up an upset win during the match?

If they do, we're certain that it will be Lashley who takes the pin and not Braun Strowman. Maybe a Helluva Kick hits him when he least expects it and he passes out. Maybe Owens or Zayn manage to roll one of these men up when they are distracted and least expect it.

This would be a huge step up for Owens and Zayn and maybe even catapult them into the main event picture where they belong. After all, picking up a win against such a dominant team is really no mean feat!

#3 Lashley and Strowman implode, opponents win

The real money is in a Lashley vs. Strowman feud, in our opinion

Everybody wants to see King Kong take on Godzilla in a fight to the finish. Lashley and Strowman may only have been teamed up for them to split up again. And then, the two men could wage war in a program that sets RAW on fire. This could be the hottest feud, stretching all the way to SummerSlam.

Maybe the two men battle each other and the fight spills outside the ring, carrying all the way to the back. Owens and Zayn will pick up the win, as a direct consequence.

#2 The Authors of Pain lay everyone out

The Authors of Pain can size up to Lashley and Strowman, seeming like believable opponents

The Authors of Pain have seemed absolutely dominant ever since they made their way up to the main roster. They haven't really been booked in a program since then. Could the two of them come down to ringside and take apart the tag team unit of Strowman and Lashley? Maybe take out Owens and Zayn as well?

What's better than King Kong vs. Godzilla? Well, two King Kongs facing two Godzillas, for sure. The Authors of Pain could benefit greatly from working this feud.

It may make sense to keep the Authors of Pain away from the Tag Team Championships for a while. The two men are green and may need some experience before they are awarded the Tag Team championships.

#1 Lashley and Strowman win clean

Sometimes the most obvious outcome is the likeliest of the lot

When you take on Strowman and Lashley, chances are they will squash you. As great as Owens and Zayn are, Strowman and Lashley are booked as monsters. In all likelihood, they will make short work of their opponents at Backlash. This is the most likely option of the lot.

Maybe the two men are destined to challenge Wyatt and Hardy down the line someday. It will be interesting to see the Wyatt-Strowman dynamic considering they were once part of the Wyatt Family. Likewise with Lashley and Hardy who had many interactions while in TNA.

Could Lashley and Strowman use the momentum from winning this match to capture the tag team titles subsequently? If so, this could be a great first step.
