While we initially thought that Nia Jax being in the Men's Royal Rumble was a late punishment for the Becky Lynch incident in November before Survivor Series, it turns out we may have been wrong.
If you're not aware, Nia Jax became the first person in WWE history to compete in two different Royal Rumble matches in one night! Granted, there's only been two Rumble matches twice, but it's a nice little piece of history.
WWE completely threw us off when Nia Jax attacked R-Truth (The original #30 entrant) from behind and took his spot. She would eliminate Mustafa Ali, who was having a great performance in his own right. However, she would get taken out and then eliminated.
It seems like WWE is pushing Nia Jax as not just the irresistible force, but a woman who fears no one. We could see Nia Jax entering the Men's division similar to Chyna, or atleast take on a few other male competitors. Here are our best picks.
#5. Randy Orton
At the Royal Rumble, Randy Orton seemed absolutely puzzled that he had a face-off with Nia Jax of all people. The thing is, she actually kept her own ground and had an impressive show of strength against him, knocking him down.
In fact, when he went for an RKO, she evaded it and shoved him down. When she eventually did take the RKO, she took it like a champ and sold well. One thing that people didn't really give her enough credit for is the fact that she bumped really well.
Moreover, it would take Randy Orton help from his old bitter rival to eliminate The Irresistible Force! You can't deny that it would be an interesting stylistic match-up, albeit a bizarre one.
#4. Rey Mysterio
It was Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton, two bitter rivals who teamed together to take out Nia Jax. While their Royal Rumble confrontation alone would make for a good match. However, how often do we see a David vs Goliath match where Goliath is a female superstar?
Due to the size difference alone, Mysterio could actually end up being an underdog. It would make for one of the most interesting and talked about matches in a long time. Would you like to see this one?
#3. Apollo Crews
Apollo Crews was a partner for Nia Jax in the first season of the Mixed Match Challenge, so there's already a bit of a story there. We've seen cases where babyfaces and heels are friends on screen despite having different alignments.
Putting them in a storyline and having Nia turn on Crews would definitely make him a more sympathetic babyface. They could actually have a good showing as well!
#2. Dean Ambrose
Dean Ambrose had "something to say" to the WWE Universe after losing to Seth Rollins on the RAW after Royal Rumble. However, he was interrupted by Nia Jax, who went face-to-face with the former WWE Champion and threw him out of the ring.
While she isn't the first woman to throw a former male world champion outside the ring this month (that belongs to Becky Lynch), it still made for a very interesting segment. She wouldn't go over Ambrose, but it would be interesting if they actually had a match and she took the fight to The Lunatic Fringe.
#1. Braun Strowman
Admittedly, this one is the most unrealistic male opponent for Nia Jax. Fans wanted to see them team together for the Mixed Match Challenge, but that didn't for whatever reason.
How crazy would it be to see Nia Jax go face to face with Braun Strowman? Even there, a considerable size difference is seen, but it would be one to remember for sure!
