Rey Mysterio facing Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania has all the makings of an all-time classic match

WWE matchups like Rey Mysterio vs. Daniel Bryan are made for events such as WrestleMania. Rey Mysterio and Daniel Bryan are both multi-time former WWE World Heavyweight Champions. Both WWE Superstars are also arguably two of the biggest and most beloved babyfaces in WWE history. A match between the two at WrestleMania would be a dream bout for the WWE Universe.

Although not memorable, the two have faced off against each other in singles competition inside of a WWE ring before. Bryan and Mysterio had singles matches against one another in 2012 and 2013 on Monday Night RAW.

However, these were cold matches with no real storylines or angles heading into them. It's one thing to have a random, impromtu match on RAW, it's another to have a high profile match at WrestleMania with several weeks of hype, promotion and storyline build.

Daniel Bryan is currently scheduled to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at Fastlane, with the winner facing the 2021 Men's Royal Rumble winner Edge in the main event at WrestleMania 37.

However, it seems a formality that Roman Reigns will retain the Universal Championship at Fastlane. Therefore, this leaves Daniel Bryan without an opponent for the showcase of the immortals.

Perhaps Rey Mysterio is just the opponent that Daniel Bryan needs to steal the show at WrestleMania 37 inside Raymond James Stadium.
