Predicting how Braun Strowman will lose at WWE Elimination Chamber 2018

I
In all likelihood, Braun Strowman won't win at Elimination Chamber

The 2018 WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view is on the horizon and, as is often the case before WrestleMania, the winner of the main event appears to be set in stone.

Seven Superstars will compete in the men’s Chamber match at this year’s event (Roman Reigns, John Cena, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, The Miz and Elias), with Reigns the heavy favourite to go on to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal title at WrestleMania 34.

If, as expected, that happens and we see Reigns vs. Lesnar in New Orleans, then what lies in store for Strowman when he steps foot inside the Elimination Chamber for the first time?

In this article, we look at four possible scenarios that could lead to “The Monster Among Men” being eliminated from the seven-man match.

#4 John Cena pins him

Braun Strowman and John Cena have met twice on Raw

Of all the participants in the men’s Elimination Chamber match, John Cena has racked up the most cumulative eliminations throughout his career (4) and has more experience than anybody else when it comes to stepping inside the steel structure.

Nobody would be surprised to see him add to that tally by eliminating the likes of Elias and The Miz on 25 February, but it would certainly be a big shock if he eliminated Braun Strowman from the match.

“The Monster Among Men” has been involved in two matches with Cena over the last six months, with neither man winning via pinfall in either match, but they’re bound to cross paths inside the Chamber.

In all honesty, we don’t see Cena eliminating Strowman, which is why this outcome appears fourth in our list, but this is the 16-time World champion we’re talking about, so let’s not count him out!

#3 Roman Reigns pins him

Roman Reigns' latest Universal title quest is just beginning

Let’s face it, Roman Reigns is almost certain to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 and he’s going to need to produce a huge performance at Elimination Chamber to prove that he belongs in the ‘Mania main event for the fourth year in a row.

“The Big Dog” proved his worth with statement victories in each of the last three pre-WrestleMania pay-per-views (vs Daniel Bryan, 2015; vs Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar, 2016; vs Braun Strowman, 2017) and the same will be required in his first-ever Chamber match.

Based purely on the fact that neither man loses via pinfall or submission (the only ways to lose inside the Chamber) very often, Reigns and Strowman will be the most difficult Superstars to eliminate and will probably be in the match until the very end.

If it comes down to the two former rivals, whose nine-month feud was a major highlight of 2017, then we reckon Reigns will pin “The Monster Among Men” to book his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania.

#2 Triple H interferes

Triple H ran into Braun Strowman at Survivor Series 2017

For the second year in a row, Braun Strowman is one of the featured stars on Raw every week but his direction heading into WrestleMania remains unclear.

Ahead of WrestleMania 33, he feuded with The Big Show and only ended up on the event’s kickoff show in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Now, weeks before WrestleMania 34, we still don’t know what plans WWE has for him.

One rumour circulating recently has suggested that he could be a tag partner for MMA megastar-turned-WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey when she makes her in-ring debut at WrestleMania, with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon their potential opponents.

If that is the case, then there’s every chance that HHH could interfere at Elimination Chamber to cost Strowman. “The Game” was attacked by his fellow Team Raw member after he double-crossed him at Survivor Series in November 2017, so there’s definitely some unfinished business to pick up!

#1 Multi-person pinfall

The women's Fatal-4-Way at WrestleMania 33 essentially became a handicap match

As boring as this prediction might be, the most likely outcome is for Braun Strowman to be eliminated by multiple people at once at Elimination Chamber.

Remember how Nia Jax was pinned by Sasha Banks, Bayley and Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 33? Perhaps we’ll see a repeat of that, only with more people (maybe all six?!) needed to take out “The Monster Among Men”.

After all, he has only been pinned by one man (Brock Lesnar, No Mercy 2017) in the last 11 months, so it’s going to take an awful lot to “get these hands” eliminated from the match!
