The WWE Universe was in for a shock when 'The Prize Fighter' Kevin Owens made his return to the WWE wherein he replaced Kofi Kingston as Daniel Bryan's opponent for the WWE Championship match at Fastlane. Now portraying a 'babyface', Owens put on good promos in the build up and had an impressive showing in the triple threat match that eventually took place at Fastlane against Daniel Bryan and Mustafa Ali.

In the subsequent episodes of Smackdown Live, it looked as if Owens might be involved in the WWE Championship feud for WrestleMania 35 as well. However, Kofi Kingston now seems to be the front runner to be the #1 Contender for Daniel Bryan's WWE Championship for the marquee event.

This means that Kevin Owens is currently without any singles opponent for WrestleMania 35. However, as indicated by his role in the brawl that took place between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in the March 20 episode of Smackdown Live, Owens might have an interesting role to play come Wrestlemania 35.
