The Miz was unable to perform at WrestleMania, which meant that WWE was forced to think on their feet and arrange the SmackDown Tag Team Championship match in a way that would allow them to still be defended.
John Morrison stepped up to represent his team along with Jimmy Uso and Kofi Kingston. It was an interesting way for the Tag Team Championships to be defended, but storyline wise it made a lot of sense, until the finish.

All three men managed to take the Championships down from the rafters, but it was John Morrison who unhooked the Championships when he fell to the floor, which meant that he was able to retain. This ending showed that WWE wants this match to happen again since it wasn't a decisive victory for the current champions.
Morrison and Miz will obviously take the victory in any form, but since this was the only ladder match on the card and WWE has become accustomed to come incredible ladder matches at The Showcase of Immortals, this one wasn't in the mix.
