While Ricochet versus Brock Lesnar might seem like a dream match on paper, especially with the former United States Champion's moveset, it really just reeks of monotony. Sure, the elements are there to tell the story of a an underdog trying to overcome a hungry beast, but we all know how that ends up.

The underdog will fight tirelessly to defeat The Beast Incarnate, but come up short after taking the WWE Champion to his limit. It's a tale as old as time at this point and that's not going to change with Lesnar versus Ricochet. It might even end up hurting WWE in the long run.

That's why WWE needed Lesnar versus Bobby Lashley so badly. It was more than just a dream match, it was a blockbuster box office draw that would have bridged the gap between now and WrestleMania. It would have also been a break from the underdeog versus Lesnar match, which is pretty much needed at this point.
