All the four competitors in the NXT Championship match next week are former NXT Champions. Adam Cole (BayBay) is the longest-reigning NXT Champion in history (403 days), who lost the title earlier this year to Keith Lee. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa have also held the NXT title.

But for Finn Balor, he won the Championship way back in 2015. Also, his character now is way different then what it was back then. A blend of a heel and an anti-hero, Finn Balor has been going up against heels as well as faces recently. Balor as the NXT Champion would be a fresh change in the title scene of the Black and Gold brand of WWE.

The recent champions have been either proper babyfaces (Keith Lee) or massive heels (Karrion Kross, Adam Cole). Finn Balor, on the other hand, is someone who considers himself to be the best and takes on every possible opportunity to prove it. Imagine the feuds he could have with the talented roster of NXT.
