NXT Champion Karrion Kross had a week full of ups and downs as he managed to win the title from Keith Lee at TakeOver: XXX, but tragedy struck as he separated his shoulder during the match. As a result of the same, he was forced to relinquish his title this week on NXT.

Interestingly, a similar situation happened with Finn Balor in 2016. He won the Universal Championship at SummerSlam that year by defeating Seth Rollins. Unfortunately, his dream push came to a sudden halt as he also faced a similar injury and was forced to relinquish the Universal title.
