Rey Mysterio is often considered to be the greatest underdog in WWE history. Tonight at WrestleMania Backlash, WWE gave a similar underdog booking to his son Dominik Mysterio as well.

Before the match tonight, Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler attacked Dominik backstage, injuring him severely. When the medical team checked him, it declared him in no condition to compete. Rey Mysterio then calmed him down by telling him that they'll get more chances. Following this, he came out to the ring alone to compete against The Dirty Dawgs.

The champions dominated Rey Mysterio, attacking him and keeping him down throughout the match only for Dominik to make his way out to the ring in a heroic moment. Ultimately, he was the one who got the pin for his team to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. It was surely a great performance that put over Dominik as a top babyface.
