Finn Balor's time on the WWE main roster will always carry with it one major what if. What if Balor had not suffered an injury forcing him to relinquish the Universal title?

Balor was crowned the very first WWE Universal Champion at SummerSlam back in 2016, but just 24 hours later he was forced to relinquish the title after he suffered an injury during the match against Seth Rollins.

After relinquishing the title, Balor left WWE TV to recover, and many fans feel he has never been the same since returning. Balor never ascended back to the main event picture aside from a brief title feud against Brock Lesnar which ended very quickly.

Most fans and pundits would agree that Vince McMahon has not used Balor well, which is in stark contrast to the way he was used in NXT. Balor holds the distinction of being the longest-reigning NXT Champion in the history of the brand, holding the gold for 292 consecutive days. With his return to NXT, Balor could once again ascend to the place fans feel he rightfully belongs.
