At the peak of the Monday Night Wars, WCW introduced a monster who stepped through the flames, breathing smoke from his nostrils and mowing down his opponents in almost no time. In under a year, he would become world champion, defeating Hulk Hogan and claiming his crown.
Bearing a striking resemblance to Stone Cold Steve Austin, he would become WCW’s biggest star in a roster packed with legends. His name was Goldberg.

With fewer people tuning in every week, WWE needs all the viewers it can get heading into WrestleMania 33 in Orlando. With Goldberg returning and becoming the top guy in the company, fans of both WCW and the Ruthless Aggression era will tune in to watch their favourite Superstar.
It may not be the ideal way to go about things, but hey, it’s the most effective way.
