Internet wrestling fans are often under the false impression that if a talent is well known in NXT, then he or she must be well known to the rest of the WWE Universe. Sometimes that is the case, but more often than not, talents need to re-establish themselves on the main roster once they arrive from popular runs in NXT.

The same might be true for a talent like Matt Riddle, making a feud with Bill Goldberg not the best way to introduce Riddle to the WWE main roster fans.

The feud has consisted of Riddle burying Goldberg's abilities in the ring, and claiming he could soundly defeat Goldberg if given the chance in WWE, so if Riddle were to lose cleanly to the aging WWE Hall of Famer in a quick match, it would result in a very poor introduction for Riddle to the WWE fanbase.

Riddle and Goldberg might get the opportunity to trade some interesting barbs during promos leading up to the match, as both talents are skilled on the mic, but in the end, if Riddle is not able to showcase his in-ring abilities, the WWE Universe will get a lukewarm first look at the NXT standout.
