NXT is basically filled to the brim with talent at this point in time. There are a handful of sports entertainers in the black and gold brand who are just biding their time and waiting for their opportunity to step up to the main roster and stake their claim as the upcoming top dogs.
Now we know that Shawn Michaels is working with the men and women of the WWE Performance Center and he's helping them hone their craft to become established future stars. Could his appearance on SmackDown be a way to introduce one of them to the world? The first name I can think of is Johnny Gargano, because he's done everything that needs to be done in the developmental brand.
But he could also be at SmackDown to introduce Adam Cole or even Shayna Baszler. The possibilities are quite endless indeed.
