WWE has signed two new TV deals which will begin in 2019, Monday Night Raw will continue on USA Network, while SmackDown will debut live on FOX Sports on Friday nights, both will be part of new five-year deals which will bring a lot of money to the company.

Now, these deals could suffer, if the ratings go down, as then it will give hints that fans are no longer interested in the current product. For the past few weeks, ratings have been floundering for both Raw and SmackDown, which has put WWE on notice.

Normally during WrestleMania season, ratings substantially increase, but this year it is going down instead. So WWE could have made a desperate move to increase the ratings by calling new NXT talent to the main roster, as then it could bring more eyeballs to the company.

It may turn out to be positive for the ratings, but it will definitely be a negative for all of these athletes' respective careers. WWE could have easily brought back a major star from the past, similar to what they have done before to boost the ratings.
