5 reasons why The Undertaker may be done with his WWE career

Let's be honest here.

We all knew The Undertaker couldn't keep going forever, and while fans would probably like to see him compete in the squared circle for one more night, the possibility of it happening seems extremely unlikely. In fact, according to reports, The Undertaker isn't scheduled for WrestleMania or The Saudi Arabia show.

Beyond that, Meltzer also claims that The Undertaker is retired, which seems to make sense given the fact that he is yet to appear on The road to WrestleMania 35. Of course, Undertaker could always make a surprise appearance at the big show if he wants to, but him removing any affiliation with WWE from his Twitter is a sign of that probably not happening.

With that being said and rumors of The Undertaker being retired starting to look more and more likely by the day, here are five reasons why The Undertaker is done with WWE. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and be sure to tell us if you think the retirement is real or not.

#5 Crown Jewel disaster

Another thing the WWE Universe needs to be honest about is the extremely poor performance put on by The Undertaker at Greatest Royal Rumble and the Crown Jewel pay per view. Not only was that evident by the limited amount of offense Undertaker got in both of those bouts, but also by how gassed he was afterward.

If nothing else, Undertaker can't perform like he used to and it is having a serious effect on the type of matches he can have. Unfortunately for The Undertaker, it is also starting to chip away at the mystique he has built around himself over the course of his career, which could be a big reason why he doesn't want to compete anymore.

#4 Upset over certain booking decisions

While there are no firm details regarding why The Undertaker suddenly decided to walk away from the company so quietly, there are quite a few assumptions that can be drawn from his career. One such example is a rumor that appeared around WrestleMania 32, which claimed that Vince McMahon originally wanted Undertaker to lose to Shane McMahon.

Interestingly enough, The Undertaker was reportedly so upset about the request that he refused Vince McMahon's phone calls after the event. With that being said, it's obvious that The Undertaker is rightfully stingy about who he loses to and that could be why we are seeing him walk away at this point.

Who knows, maybe The Undertaker is still upset about losing to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30, or maybe Undertaker really was angry about being asked to lose to Vince McMahon's son.

In the end, there are certainly rumors out there to suggest that this problem exists, and also that this problem could be one of the reasons he is done with the company.

#3 Nothing left to prove

What is there left for The Undertaker to prove in WWE?
What is there left for The Undertaker to prove in WWE?

The Undertaker has accomplished pretty much everything there is to inside a WWE ring, and while there are probably a few dream matches fans are still clamoring for, Undertaker just has nothing left to prove. Beyond that, if there is nothing left to prove, what is the point of him risking further injury to try to prove himself once again?

Think about it! The Undertaker is a former tag team champion, Intercontinental Champion, United States Champion, WWE Champion, and Hardcore Champion. He has main evented countless pay per views and even WrestleMania on a couple of occasions. Finally, he has taken part in some of the most breathtaking moments in WWE history.

If nothing else, there is nothing left to prove and no reason left to even prove it in the first place. Undertaker doesn't need another victory or even another appearance for that matter. He has given the WWE Universe everything he has for the last two decades and he shouldn't have to give more.

#2 No more streak

Whether the WWE Universe likes it or not, the streak was one of the only reasons The Undertaker still competed, and now that it's gone, there really isn't much point anymore. Again that probably plays back into the nothing left to prove aspect, but The Undertaker not having the steak anymore takes away a lot of the mystique surrounding his character.

The streak was the last great thing about WrestleMania and once it was gone, so was any reason The Undertaker should be in a ring. Face it! Undertaker isn't as exciting to watch without his streak on the line anymore, and while some fans still fall for his unique persona and presence, it doesn't make up for what he has lost.

In the end, The Undertaker probably harbors a lot of anger about losing his WrestleMania streak. Furthermore, he probably would have wanted one more chance to settle things with Brock Lesnar at the showcase of the immortals, but what would even be the point of that anymore?

#1 Risk of injuries

Face it, The Undertaker can't risk getting injured again
Face it, The Undertaker can't risk getting injured again

The Undertaker isn't what he used to be.

Not only is that evident by the extremely slow pace he has in the ring now, but also by the limited amount of damage he can take during a match. In fact, it has gotten so bad that Taker's opponent is often relegated to punches, rest holds, and taking The Deadman's finisher throughout the entire contest.

Of course, a lot of that has to do with The Undertaker's previous injuries and the risk of further injuries happening in the ring, but it's gotten to a point where he shouldn't be in the ring in the first place.

Furthermore, with a laundry list of injuries including torn pecs, broken hips, both eye sockets crushed, and 20 orthopedic surgeries, he should be nowhere near a ring at this point in his life.

In the end, this is going to probably leave a lot of the WWE Universe resentful that they won't be able to see the Undertaker one more time, but it's probably for the greater good. In all honesty, Undertaker just doesn't possess the same magic and mystique he did, which makes trying to trot him out to recapture it all the more pointless.

It's not there anymore!
