As told by ex WWE employees Tom Prichard and Jim Cornette, Vince McMahon is not the biggest fan of tag team wrestling. While he doesn't hate it outright, he doesn't believe that they hold the same value or can feature them in the main event.
Moreover, Vince McMahon is more likely to break up the team if he believes that one of them can become a great WWE superstar. Shawn Michaels is one that comes to mind. But he doesn't have the same fondness for WWE tag teams as he once did.

In a sense, Vince McMahon doesn't see a financial incentive to invest in Tag Team Wrestling. The Usos are brothers and a team. It would be hard to see one survive without the other. It provides another reason for them to jump ship to AEW where they could really shine.
