#4. An underwhelming Clash of Champions performance for Kingston

We're quite sure that WWE never really intended for Kofi Kingston's reign to play out this way. The past two title defenses for Kofi Kingston were meant to be the most important and defining ones of his title reign.

Unfortunately, one ended in DQ while the other was an extremely underwhelming match-up. The reaction, or lack thereof, tells the whole story. It was sadly the match that made the crowd the quietest the whole night, and despite the two having a long story, the crowd simply didn't get into it.

That's not exactly a fault of theirs, but it didn't help Kingston or Orton that they were put in a bad place on the card after the crowd was already spent. Either way, it's highly possible that this match turned out to be the death sentence for Kofi Kingston's reign as WWE Champion.

There were even rumours before that Shane McMahon was being planned as the one to dethrone Kingston, but thankfully, those rumours seem to have been rubbished or at least scrapped.
