5 reasons why WrestleMania 34 is the best pro wrestling match card ever presented

Has there ever been a roster stronger and more powerful than this?
Has there ever been a roster stronger and more powerful than this?

The biggest professional wrestling extravaganza is back with a bang, in less than 4 hours WWE will present it's 34th annual WrestleMania Grand Spectacle. It's the time of the year when professional wrestling fans assemble across the world for the biggest festival of the year

Ever since its first edition back in 1985, WrestleMania season is usually the time of the year when the WWE brings out the biggest storylines and rivalries from the past year that culminate with a grudge match at the biggest stage.

Match cards like the ones presented at 'Mania X-Seven and 'Mania 31 are considered to be among the best wrestling match cards ever presented in history.

However due to the way WWE stacked up the card for WrestleMania 34, there is a very strong argument that it is actually WWE's best ever match card.

Whether the performers will live up to the hype or not is a whole different debate, but this show is stacked from the top to the bottom. Here are 5 solid reason why this is the best professional wrestling match card ever presented.

#5 All main roster titles defended on the main show

Certainly not a main roster title anymore.
Certainly not a main roster title anymore.

Does anyone recall the last time when all the active main roster titles were defended at WrestleMania? It's certainly tough, but it was back at WrestleMania X-8, a full 16 years ago. Titles are meant to be a sign of respect for the wrestlers holding them, yet every single year since 2002, at least one main roster title has failed to make it to WrestleMania.

This year however would be the first time in 16 years that every single active title on the roster will be up for grabs at 'Mania. Not only that, there is a proper storyline and animosity between the superstars involved in those title matches. Title matches usually are more compelling and are taken more seriously by the fans.

Now, the cruiserweight title might be on the pre show, but let's face the fact - WWE doesn't take cruiserweight division seriously. As a matter of fact, one can make a strong case that the title would gain even more credibility if it were defended solely on NXT. Who knows, had the title been defended on NXT Takeover, they might have stolen the show aswell.

#4 Deserving superstars getting their rightful spot

It's time to give these three credit for making IC title relevant again.
It's time to give these three credit for making IC title relevant again.

One issue that fans have had with the WWE in the past was that WWE always gives unnecessary spotlight to the people who least deserve it.

Mickey Rourke took the spotlight from Chris Jericho in 2009, Snooki just walked past Lay-Cool and Dolph Ziggler in 2011 and Pitbull got to bore the Orlando crowd for 20 minutes while Ambrose and Corbin were relegated to the pre show at the 11th hour.

Being on the main card of 'Mania is a dream for every wrestler who enters the business, but WWE has consistently made this mistake of keeping deserving and hard-working superstars off 'Mania. This year is a different case though.

This year's card is full of performers who have worked really hard in the last 12 months just to earn a spot on the biggest card of the year.

Rusev, The Miz, The Usos, heck even Jinder Mahal now have a well deserved spot on the main card. Although there is still a very strong chance that Kid Rock might get a good 15 minutes, the fact that all the deserving superstars are on the card is enough to raise the level of expectation and excitement for the show.

#3 Major focus on women's wrestling

The biggest women's match in wrestling history.

The start of the women's revolution was a new turn in the way women were treated as professional wrestlers by the WWE.

Despite WWE having a proper division for female superstars since 1998, female performers were either given the death spot on any wrestling show between two of the highest priority matches or were forced to participate in worthless and humiliating exhibition matches, barring a few Women's title matches.

This edition however, is turning out to be pretty good for the female superstars of the company. 'Mania 34 will be the first instance of two 1-on-1 contest featuring women wrestlers, with one being regarded as the biggest women's match in the history of pro wrestling.

As an icing on the cake, one of the baddest female athlete on the planet, Ronda Rousey, is involved in one of the highest billed matches on the card.

WWE has come a long way by giving female superstars the respect that they deserve. Long gone are the days when women were involved in nonsensical battle royals and tag team matches.

It won't be a surprise if Asuka vs Charlotte ends up as the match of the night in New Orleans.

#2 Anticipated returns and debuts

The biggest story going into WrestleMania - Daniel Bryan's Return.
The biggest story going into WrestleMania - Daniel Bryan's Return.

Talk about sending the entire WWE fan base into a state of frenzy, WWE's announcement of Daniel Bryan getting medication clearance from their own doctors not only gave a new breathe of fresh air to the struggling SmackDown roster, but also brought a new level of excitement among the fans who have been craving for a return match for their favourite pro-wrestler for almost 2 years.

In a parallel storyline, WWE has finally obtained the services of Ronda Rousey three years after she first appeared on WWE programming.

Her match at 'Mania against WWE's power couple generating more attention than any match has generated in the past 5 years and is being termed as the biggest in-ring debut in the history of WWE.

And then, there is the suspense surrounding the possible John Cena vs The Undertaker card.

Due to the way Cena has called out the Undertaker and pointed out his ceremonial retirement at 'Mania 33, there's a lot of buzz that 'Taker might bring out his alter ego and enter New Orleans on a bike for the first time in 15 years, the place where his legendary streak ended.

#1 Plethora of dream matches

The biggest dream match in the history of professional wrestling.
The biggest dream match in the history of professional wrestling.

Never in it's history has the WWE tried so hard to promote this many dream matches for a single 'Mania. Yes, we had Rock vs Hogan at X-8 and we had Rock vs Cena at XXVIII, but no other match on the card was on the same level as these two matches on their respective cards.

This year however, there is a completely different scenario as the WWE is presenting not one, not two, but three certified dream matches at WrestleMania 34.

In Styles vs Nakamura, WWE is presenting a match-up that is on the dream list of every hardcore wrestling fan. This is not just a match between two of the biggest baby faces in WWE, but it is a clash between arguably two of the best to have ever graced a wrestling ring.

Fans are already expecting it to not only steal the show, but also present a strong case as the greatest match in WrestleMania history.

Same is the case with Charlotte vs Asuka - two of the best female wrestlers in the world at the moment who are capable of stealing the show on any night.

Last but not the least, it is the long due encounter of two icons - John Cena and The Undertaker. With the match still hanging in the balance right now, the excitement amongst WWE fans is on a whole different level. 'Mania 34, if presented in the perfect way, has all it takes to become the greatest pro wrestling show of all time.
