Rumors are starting to circulate about WWE shutting down programming after the conclusion of WrestleMania 36 and it honestly doesn't sound like a bad idea. In fact, with the stay at home order issued by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the company still trying to figure out ways to involve fans more, it might be better to take a break.

Of course, that decision is ultimately up to WWE and what they find to be best for business, but here are five reasons why they should take a break after WrestleMania 36. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and be sure to tell us what you think some of the drawbacks would be of shutting down WWE for a while.

#5. Adds to the importance of WrestleMania 36

The last show of the year?

While that most likely won't be the case when it comes to this year's WrestleMania, having this be the last show for a while gives the event an added sense of importance. Add to that the fact that it's WrestleMania and many of the company's top belts are up for grabs and you have a great cliff hanger to work with.

Think about it! WWE could shock The WWE Universe over the course of the two night WrestleMania event and leave them begging for more. The genius part is, however, that there won't be more. The show will go off for a while and leave fans with a hankering to see what happens next.

In the end, this is a powerful tool at the company's disposal and the company should really look into using it. In fact, not only would it go a long way in adding to the importance of the two night WrestleMania event, but it also creates a situation where WWE fans can start to ease up on their resentment.

#4. Ease resentment from fans

Going off the air for a while might help WWE in the eyes of the fans.
Going off the air for a while might help WWE in the eyes of the fans.

Let's not beat around the bush.

The WWE Universe is pretty upset with the different aspects of the current state of the product, especially with Goldberg defeating The Fiend to win the Universal title. While the company has done everything in its power to remedy these issues, it just keeps working against them. Now, this isn't WWE's fault, but the ongoing global pandemic is making it pretty much impossible to host a viable show.

With that being said and fans still upset about everything the product is lacking, maybe the company should take some time off and let The WWE Universe's wounds heal a bit. Not only will that give WWE a chance to come up with a new plan and find ways to improve the product, but it will also create demand among the fans again.

While some might think this will just cause wrestling fans to go watch something else, that might not matter as much as you think. In fact, WWE has such a solid hardcore fanbase that they could go off the air for months and will still have people coming back. For those that don't however, they'll still secretly watch to see what the company is doing.

#3 Keeps everyone safe

WWE has a lot of people they need to keep safe.
WWE has a lot of people they need to keep safe.

Safety should be at the forefront of WWE's concerns throughout this pandemic and while the company has done its best to make that happen, there have still been quite a few incidents. In fact, between Roman Reigns dropping out of WrestleMania 36 due to health concerns, The Miz getting some kind of illness, and countless other talents in quarantine, it is becoming more likely that a shutdown is needed.

Beyond all that, WWE employs hundreds of people at the Orlando Performance center alone and also needs to consider the safety of those individuals. Yeah, WWE has tried to push on for as long as they could and they should definitely be commended for that effort, but the risk is becoming far greater than the reward.

In all honesty, WWE loses nothing by shutting down its doors for a while after WrestleMania 36. Furthermore, they actually gain so much by allowing themselves to regroup, come up with a new plan and keep everyone involved in the organization safe. WWE can always come back another day bigger than ever!

#2. Formulate a long-term plan

It's no secret that WWE needs a long term plan as they navigate the minefield that is the Coronavirus pandemic and doing weekly television might not be helping them. In fact, being responsible for seven hours of programming each week isn't giving them much time to come up with any long term solutions to their current problems.

With that being said and WWE still trying to come up to ways to create excitement in empty arenas, tell stories without sound, and work within set limitations, it makes sense for the company to take some time off. At least that way, they can work on long term solutions to some of these problems and create a more polished product.

In the end, WWE is a little disorganized right now and needs some time to come up with a workable solution to these ongoing problems. Of course, that isn't their fault and is mostly due to the ongoing pandemic, but continuing to put out shows like RAW, SmackDown, 205 Live, and NXT, in empty arenas isn't helping anything.

#1. Create demand.

WWE needs to create demand again!
WWE needs to create demand again!

WWE needs to find a way to reinvest fans in the product and one way to do that could be to create demand again. Now, that's not going to be easy, especially with some fans being unhappy with how things are currently going, but taking a break for a while could go a long way in building up some kind of demand for wrestling again. As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

In all honesty, the WWE Universe needs some time to get over the disappointment of the last couple of months with The Fiend's defeat, and it will be easier to create demand again once that is accomplished. Furthermore, if the company waits long enough before coming back again, it could have fans absolutely bloodthirsty to see WWE again.

In the end, you can't miss what isn't gone and that's what WWE needs to keep in mind. They also need to keep in mind that all the fans just have an overall unhappiness with the product right now and they need time to process that. WWE meanwhile, can use that time to come up with solutions or just wait until the pandemic is over.
