Rowdy Roddy Piper. Hot Rod. Movie star? Roddy Piper was one of the better pro wrestlers of his generation and was a legitimate tough guy and an athlete. He was even a former Golden Gloves boxing champion and had a black belt in Judo. His charisma was unmatched and easily one of the best heels in the 1980s.
He starred in several films through the course of his wrestling career, which included Body Slam in 1986. He even starred in John Carpenter's They Live, which is probably Piper's best film as the sci-fi film still stands tall today with its subversive political commentary. Hell Comes to Frogtown is not a classic by any stretch.
The film was strange in its conception as Roddy Piper plays one of the last 'virile' men on the planet after it has been through a nuclear holocaust. Piper must free 'fertile' women from an enemy camp filled with Mutants.
Truly, this was a B-film in all respects and with a plot like that, it's probably why no one remembers it ever getting made.
