5 Rivalries that could happen post-WWE Elimination Chamber

WWE Elimination Chamber 2019

The Elimination Chamber did have a few ups and downs that got the WWE fans going and gave them something to cheer on. From the Cruiserweight Championship match between Buddy Murphy and Akira Tozawa in the kickoff show to the first ever Women's Tag Team Champs and eventually the Chamber Match for the WWE title, there were a lot of talking points at the pay-per-view.

Some of the matches were above par, while others failed to really live up to expectations. Despite that, the show was a decent spectacle and the fans would be happy with the product that they got.

With that being said, not all matches ended the way that they possibly should have from the fan's point of view and the reason for that could be new budding rivalries. Here are five new rivalries that we might get to see as the Road To Wrestlemania continues.

#5 Nia Jax vs Tamina

Once again, Nia Jax wasn't the member of her team that was pinned and it was Tamina who was outnumbered by the stars in the Women's Tag Team Championship match. This may not go down well with the Irresistible Force, who might be frustrated by the fact that her partner is the weak link in the team and she might eventually decide to turn her back on her.

The feud may or may not result in a match at Wrestlemania, though it would be a treat for the fans to see these two heavy-weights battle each other. They are both power-houses and after dominating the women's division for quite some time now, may go at each other for a rivalry that might see one of them being given a push into the Women's Title picture, sooner or later. Which one of the two would it be? Only time will tell.

#4 Sasha Banks vs Bayley

There was a moment in the Chamber match, where the team had a slight face-off on the top of the pod, which provided a sense of deja vu from the last time that these two were involved in such a match. Also, though it was evident that they were the favourites to win the title, there are still some doubts about their unity at present.

It always seems that they are just a single step away from turning on each other and a rivalry will be reignited once again. It could be quite possible that the WWE wanted to make them the inaugural Women's Tag-Team Champions, only to make them lose it soon and then back-stab each other yet again.

However, if my guess is right, it might be Bayley who might lose it on Sasha this time, with Corey Graves suggesting that the boss has just been selfish all along over and over again in his commentary.

#3 The Miz vs Shane McMahon

This was an unexpected loss according to some, though the way that The Miz reacted after losing the SmackDown Live Tag-team titles, it would seem that there is a hidden feud somewhere down the line. The fact that the mandatory rematch clause has been scrapped, might see The Usos take on new opponents at Wrestlemania, with The Bar possibly expected to be those opponents.

With that being said, The Miz might have a fallout with Shane soon and the two might face off against each other at Wrestlemania. Already Shane has been taking a lot of risks and it was obvious that he might now wrestle full-time and this match at Mania could be his last for some time.

He might take a break after that from his in-ring role and work mainly on his managerial influence. We need to remember that he is already 49 and so his focus might be a classic Wrestlemania moment against The Miz and then a long vacation to follow.

#2 Samoa Joe vs Kofi Kingston

If there has been a thorn in Samoa Joe's happy time on SmackDown Live in recent times, it has been Mustafa Ali. However, with the former Cruiser-weight superstar not clear to compete at The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, Kofi Kingston took his place.

Further, The New Day member also took to Ali's character and became the new pain in Joe's title ambitions, eliminating him from the Gauntlet Match on SmackDown Live and eventually helping Styles deliver a Phenomenal Forearm in their match on Sunday, eliminating his fierce rival.

With that being said, Joe is not really known to forget and forgive and might go after the former Tag Team champion and take his revenge.

If that is the case and looking at Kofi's current push as a single's competitor, there could be a set of high-quality matches between the duo in the days to follow. We could be in for some more excitement with regards to Kofi. I believe, do you?

#1 Randy Orton vs AJ Styles

This is the most evident rivalry that is developing on SmackDown Live in the recent weeks, with the Viper having the better of Styles. A couple of RKOs have set the tone for one of WWE's most-awaited rivalries. The Viper vs the man who calls SmackDown, the house that he has built, this will be a top-level rivalry to determine which star can hold his own on the show.

Styles has had his feud with the likes of Joe, Bryan and others in recent months and it might now be Randy's turn to get involved with these stars.

For this purpose, he might first face off against Styles and put him away, becoming the new number one contender for the WWE Championship. We have already seen that he was the last man to enter the Chamber, which means that the writers and management consider him a potential Championship contender already.
