#2 The end of The New Day

The New Day is far too good as a trio.
The New Day is far too good as a trio.

There were whispers back in January that The New Day may split up, with one of the three stars turning heel to set it up.

Of course, The New Day is still going strong, but there are still some fans who want to see the trio split, mainly to witness whether any of the three, particularly Big E, can break out as a singles star. However, if we examine the way Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston had been "pushed" prior to forming The New Day, they weren't pushed at all.

Woods completely floundered as a singles star while Kingston never really surpassed the midcard title picture, and the same could be said about Big E. The bottom line is that WWE still has a fantastic thing going with The New Day, arguably the company's most popular tag team in what has become a paper thin tag team division.

Breaking the trio up might help Big E become a star, but it would likely result in all three New Day members getting lost in the midcard shuffle. And quite simply, that's too big of a risk to take given that WWE struck gold with a gimmick that has exceeded everyone's expectations.
