Despite the fact that The People's Champion is very busy right now being one of the hottest stars in Hollywood today, rumors always seem to circulate in the wrestling world that The Rock (also known as Dwayne Johnson) may make his return to the WWE. Whether it's just for a normal segment, or for a one on one match, there is no doubt that whenever The Rock appears on WWE television, the atmosphere gets electrified.

The Rock's current contract with the WWE consists of him being able to appear for sporadic appearances, and the rumors are that Vince McMahon constantly reaches out to him to make a potential appearance. It's clear that Rock only appears when he is free.

The Rock continues to be one of WWE's all-time favorite sons, and the crowd just doesn't seem to get enough of the former champion each time he makes a return to the square circle.

In this article, we explore five scenerios where The Rock could possibly return to the WWE.

#5 A trilogy with John Cena

The Rock and John Cena have faced each other twice already.
The Rock and John Cena have faced each other twice already.

Let's face it, a third match between The Rock and John Cena is something that not many people in the wrestling world want to see. However, the fact that they've only had two matches with each man winning one of them suggests that we still don't know who is the better man out of the two.

Both men have gone through exactly the same career path, as The Rock and Cena dominated the WWE and made a name for themselves by becoming the face of the brand before going onto Hollywood as they were destined for even bigger things.

The last time we saw these two superstars in the ring was at WrestleMania 32 when The Rock came out in front of the Arlington, Texas crowd to announce that the all-time Wrestlemania attendance record had been broken by the WWE. This led to The Wyatt Family interrupting The Rock before he had a quick 6-second match with Erick Rowan as he successfully pinned The Big Red.

However, Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman (when Strowman was part of The Wyatt Family) were set to attack The Rock until John Cena made the save, as two of the biggest faces in the wrestling industry cleared the house to stand tall again. Despite the fact that it wouldn't be a popular decision, there is still potential for both future Hall of Famers to go at it one last time to determine who is truly better.

The first time the Rock and Cena went one-on-one, the pay-per-view went on to break all sorts of records, becoming the highest purchased wrestling event in history.

So, even profitability wise, this feud will do more good to both the WWE and the WWE universe.

#4 In-ring segment with Nia Jax and Tamina

Tamina & Nia Jax are both related to The Rock.
Tamina & Nia Jax are both related to The Rock.

It is a well known fact that WWE divas Tamina Snuka and Nia Jax are related to former WWE champion Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

The Rock had earlier endorsed his cousin Roman Reigns in the ring during the Royal Rumble match and it would be an interesting angle to see him extend the same courtesies to his other cousins who are also trying to find a foothold in the WWE.

Both Divas have been with the WWE for quite a while with no clear direction and are yet to become a legitimate threat in the women's division despite various face and heel turns. The Rock could solve the issue and give them the momentum needed to capture championship gold.

The duo were a strong tag team back in 2019 and the WWE could add them up once again and add Rock to the fray to also look at boosting the tag team prospects of the women's division.

Nia and Tamina certainly have the arsenal required to make it to the top of the pile.

#3 Rekindled rivalry with Triple H

The Rock and Triple H have been rivals for over 20 years.
The Rock and Triple H have been rivals for over 20 years.

The rivalry between The Rock and Triple H goes all the way back from 1998 when The Rock was part of The Nation of Domination whereas Triple H was a member of D-Generation X as the two stables were involved in a war. We have seen Hunter and Rock compete multiple times in the ring, as both men have exchanged victories against each other.

At WrestleMania 31, we saw Stephanie McMahon and Triple H have a confrontation with The Rock as we witnessed Stephanie slap The Rock in the face. This led to The Rock bringing Ronda Rousey out to the WWE ring for the first ever time, as the babyfaces then cleared the house.

The opportunity to have a mixed tag team match between the duo is clearly gone, due to Rousey teaming up with Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 34 to take on Hunter and Stephanie, but on October 10th 2014 episode of SmackDown, we saw Triple H and The Rock exchange words in a backstage segment as the two men got riled up as they exchanged stares.

There is no denying that the WWE really wants to do this match, and if The Rock ever did make his return to the WWE, you couldn't rule out the opportunity for him to go one-on-one with Hunter for the last time out at all. The seeds have been planted many times, and there is still clearly some unfinished business.

In terms of physique and ring readiness, both The Rock and Triple H check all the boxes. Despite making sporadic appearances, the Rock looks in fine shape and Triple H is always ready to bring his 'A Game' to the table if a feud comes calling.

The feud is certainly worth headlining any Wrestlemania and the fans will be more than thrilled to see the veterans square off once again.

#2 Endorsing The Usos and confonting Roman Reigns

The Usos and The Rock are also cousins.
The Usos and The Rock are also cousins.

Another way to get The Rock involved with his family in the WWE would be by having him publicly endorse The Usos. The Usos are also Rock's cousins, as their blood ties run very deep. A one-time segment consisting of The Usos and The Rock would be a great way to boost The Usos' status in the tag team division, despite being established anyway.

The best thing about The Usos and The Rock is the fact that all three men can be serious when they need to be, and they can also be funny when required. They all know how to execute their promos to perfection. We've seen The Usos engaged in a long-term rivalry with The New Day in the past and this could just help in reviving their tag team prospects again.

If we look at this purely from the current scenerio, The Uso's are aligned with their cousin Roman Reigns, whose heel turn has caught everyone by surprise. Reigns has played the 'head of the table' card to perfection and the Uso's are in a catch 22 situation trying hard to gain the respect of Roman and his advocate Paul Heyman.

This is an ideal scenerio for the Rock to confront Reigns and the Uso's and let the world know who the real head of the table is in the Anoa'i family. He could also try to patch things up between the cousins and bring in a sense of solidarity to put an end to their feud.

This would also be a good way to prevent The Rock from wrestling too much in the ring to prevent any injuries that could jeopardize his acting career. It would be another way to endorse not just The Usos, but possibly also confronting Reigns, who the Rock had endorsed less than a couple of years ago.

#1 A rematch with Brock Lesnar

A rematch is what everybody wants to see.
A rematch is what everybody wants to see.

There simply isn't another match that the WWE Universe wants to see The Rock involved in, then a match against The Beast himself. Two of the biggest draws in the wrestling world today going one-on-one would be a marquee match for WrestleMania, and it would clearly be a huge ticket seller.

At SummerSlam 2002, we witnessed The Rock and Brock Lesnar face each other in the ring as Lesnar gained a shocking victory over The Rock. It was a victory that set Lesnar up to be a megastar as Lesnar went onto dominate the UFC as well as break The Undertaker's undefeated WrestleMania streak.

Every single year, there are always rumors that the two men will face each other at WrestleMania. The match was also rumored to have been originally set for WrestleMania 30, but The Rock apparently had issues with the WWE which led to this huge match not occurring.

Without a shadow of a doubt, if The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment was to go one on one with The Beast Incarnate, it would be a blockbuster match which would have the WWE Universe up on their feet. There are so many possibilities when you have a mega-face and a mega-heel going one on one to create a magnificent experience.

The Rock's promos have always been one of the highlights of his WWE career and we can be rest assured that Brock Lesnar will get what he deserves.

Do you agree with these any of these ideas? If The Rock was to make his return, how would you set it up? Don't hesitate to drop any opinions that you have on the comment section below!
