We are just days away from the end of 2018, and the WWE Universe looks forward to 2019, and a whole new landscape for the WWE.

After all, 2018 has been a mixed year for WWE, with several positives and negatives.

While ideas like Becky Lynch's new mean streak, and Daniel Bryan's return from retirement have been praised by fans, there have been plenty of drawbacks, such as Nia Jax's random face and heel turns, and the lengthy reign of Brock Lesnar, who regained the Universal Title at Crown Jewel.

But this is all in the past, and the WWE Universe are hoping for more of the good moments and less of the bad moments in 2019.

With the new year just days away, the WWE creative team will already be thinking up new ideas.

Here are 5 ideas WWE should use in 2019

5: Actually announce the Women's Tag Team Championships

When the WWE announced their first all-female pay per view Evolution, many fans were excited, not only at the concept, but at the possibility of women's Tag Team Titles. But when the historic show ended, the titles were nowhere to be seen, despite the company teasing them for a year.

Now in December, whilst there may be plenty of female teams, there are still no tag belts for the women of RAW, SmackDown Live, or NXT. This wouldn't be as bad, if the company wasn't constantly bringing them up, seemingly wanting fans to know that there are no belts.

Actually having Women's Tag Titles in 2019 would change the landscape of women's wrestling in WWE forever, and make a huge leap forward into equality between the men's and women's roster.

4: An NXT Invasion

This has been something fans have been hoping for, for years, and 2019 could finally be the year of the NXT Invasion.

Arguably the hottest thing in WWE right now, NXT has been a tour-de-force since being revamped in 2012, with the recent NXT UK brand only adding to the developmental ground's success.

As for who would be part of said invasion, the Undisputed Era seem likely choices, as they are all expected the be joining the main roster in 2019.

Whilst NXT has been a haven for so many stars, so many more have fallen by the wayside when they join the main roster, such as Tyler Breeze, Apollo Crews and Fandango.

What better way could the quartet of Cole, Strong, O'Reilly and Fish guarantee success than sticking it to the main roster on their very first night?

3: The return of Hulk Hogan

The most controversial choice on this list, Hulk Hogan was famously fired from the WWE in 2015, after leaked videos from years prior, showed the Hulkster using racial slurs.

Whilst no-one can defend the language Hogan used, the Hulkster has appeared genuinely remorseful since, with his constant apologies and years of charity work with the Boys and Girls Club of America being part of the WWE's decision to re-instate his Hall of Fame status.

Having Hogan return (on American soil) could be a touching moment for the former World Champion, who seems like he wants to help others learn from his mistakes.

Whether fans would give him this second chance in the first place though, remains unknown, and whilst the Crown Jewel audience welcomed Hogan with open arms, it could be very different with an American crowd.

2: Shane McMahon Vs. Daniel Bryan

As SmackDown Live General Manager, Daniel Bryan often clashed with the commissioner Shane McMahon, though the duo never came to blows.

But now with a bonafide mean-streak, and the WWE Championship as well, Bryan and Shane will be working closely together again, with Bryan the flag-bearer for Team Blue. This could easily lead to a confrontation between the two, with the heel Bryan being against the never-say-die attitude of Shane.

Hell, this could even lead to a WWE Championship match, and whilst it's unlikely Shane would win the prestigious title, stranger things have happened (such as Vince McMahon winning the title).

Even if there was no match, a feud between the face McMahon and the heel former Yes! Man would definitely excite SmackDown fans in 2019.

1: Mr. WrestleMania steals the show

At Crown Jewel, Shawn Michaels retruned from his 8-year retirement from WWE when he teamed with Triple H to defeat the Brothers of Destruction.

Since then, fans have speculated about the reported handful of matches that Michaels may have in 2019, with many hopeful that HBK will compete at WrestleMania 35. As for who his opponent will be, Michaels could have a great match with anyone, though one name keeps popping up: AJ Styles.

With the Phenomenal One losing his rematch at TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs, it seems he is out of the title picture for the time being, just in time for the Road to WrestleMania.

Two of the most decorated and respected Superstars ever, Michaels and Styles could have a show-stealing performance at WrestleMania, if the WWE pull the trigger.
