Roman Reigns took on Shane McMahon at Super ShowDown at what was the culmination of a long-term rivalry that began with Reigns attacking Shane's father, Vince McMahon, after being drafted to SmackDown. However, even an important match like this was in the middle of the card.
The Battle Royal and the Goldberg vs. Undertaker matches were clearly the two main contests at Super ShowDown. Sometimes, an important match even kicks off the proceedings, much like the Universal Championship match did.
To be the third match on the main card pretty much indicates that it's a throwaway match to get the crowd warmed up for the action that follows. There's no way that his match with Drew McIntyre at Stomping Grounds will be the main event of the pay-per-view either.
Reigns is still a major player but not the main player.
