Roman Reigns' stock has fallen over the last few months
#1 First loss on pay-per-view in a year

Roman Reigns first loss since he returned from his cancer and the first time he's been pinned on pay-per-view since July last year - against Bobby Lashley. Clean or not, Roman shouldn't be losing to Shane McMahon, had me like... #ReignsVsMcMahon#RomanReigns#ShaneMcMahon#WWESSDpic.twitter.com/WzLz9lP5Yr
It is a rare sight indeed to see Roman Reigns lose a match that he's in. It's even rarer to see him lose a match on pay-per-view, as he's one of the most protected individuals in the roster right now and this has been the case from the very start.
But then, the very fact that he lost his first match on pay-per-view in nearly a year at WWE Super ShowDown is indicative of his stock plummeting significantly. And the fact that he lost to someone like Shane McMahon, who doesn't even wrestle regularly, is a further indication of this fact.
By no means do I mean that Roman Reigns will no longer be a featured player on WWE television anymore. I mean that he won't be the be-all, end-all of WWE television like he used to be.
