The British members of the WWE Universe were already well-acquainted with The Gypsy King Tyson Fury. He made a surprise WWE appearance back in 2019.
As part of SmackDown's debut on FOX, Tyson Fury was seen in the audience and even had a staredown with Braun Strowman before his match. After Strowman threw Dolph Ziggler at the British star, Fury reacted by jumping the barricade and approaching Strowman before being stopped by security.

This later led to a match between the boxing champion and The Monster Among Men at Crown Jewel in Saudia Arabia in the fall of 2019. Fury was able to win the match at Crown Jewel but only by count-out. It was later revealed that The Gypsy King was paid an incredible $15 million for this one-off match in WWE.
Fury has since had some Twitter beef with Drew McIntyre. It appeared as if something was building between the two men, even though nothing major came out of it during the global pandemic.
