#3 Stone Cold Steve Austin never faced: Randy Orton

Stone Cold Steve Austin managed to avoid being added to Randy Orton's legend-killer list. Yet, we'd have loved to see the two square off in the ring in a match for the ages.

The RKO vs. The Stunner would have been an interesting concept. Sadly, Orton was advancing through the ranks just as Austin had called time on his in-ring career. Similar to Cena, it was too late for the two to collide.

Thankfully, we did see Austin and Orton on-screen together recently for the Broken Skull Podcast on the WWE Network. It was an in-depth interview that ventured through Orton's career with WWE.

#2 Stone Cold Steve Austin never faced: Goldberg

The WWE Hall of Famer and WCW legend has never gone toe-to-toe with Stone Cold Steve Austin. They shared the ring together when Austin refereed Goldberg's match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 20 in 2004.

Golberg versus Austin would've been a blockbuster match: The top WWE Superstar against the top WCW Superstar during the Monday Night Wars. Of course, they look similar in appearance and ring attire.

In an interview with Fanatics View in 2019, Goldberg explained why he never faced Austin in WWE:

"His neck was really screwed up, and they didn’t trust me. It was a huge opportunity that they never capitalized on for one reason. They didn’t want to see him lose," Golberg said.

#1 Stone Cold Steve Austin never faced: CM Punk

Now we're talking. This match almost came to fruition. Well, at least we thought so.

Back in 2013, at a WWE 2K panel event, CM Punk and Stone Cold Steve Austin had a heated exchange that got the pro-wrestling world talking about a possible match. Sadly, it didn't happen, but it was a dream match we all wanted to see.

The storyline wrote itself. Both stars are outspoken and anti-authority, which would've led to some incredible promos. CM Punk is straight-edge and Stone Cold Steve Austin is a beer-swilling loose cannon. We can only imagine what hell would have been raised if these two had collided.
