5 Superstars that can replace Braun Strowman at TLC after his injury

Will Braun Strowman compete at TLC?

The possibility seems less and less likely after Braun Strowman was written off television to undergo elbow surgery for bone spurs and now rumors are circulating that doctors won't know the extent of the injuries until they open him up. Unfortunately for WWE, this leaves them in a pretty touch and go situation, which could be tough to navigate.

Even worse is the fact that WWE is still reeling from Becky Lynch's injury, Roman Reigns's cancer announcement and John Cena pulling out of a big pay per view, which has to have the company feeling pretty on edge right now. Beyond that, it has to make one wonder exactly what WWE will pull off at the upcoming pay per view if Strowman can't compete

With that being said and TLC only a short time away, here are five superstars that can replace Braun Strowman in his match against Baron Corbin at TLC. Keep in mind that some of these will air a bit on the fantasy booking side of things, but it will be explained how the company can actually go about pulling it off.

#5 Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey would absolutely destroy Baron Corbin in a match!

Although this might seem a bit like fantasy booking at its most absurd, WWE has seemingly been teasing Ronda Rousey versus Baron Corbin at some point in the future. In fact, Rousey destroyed Baron Corbin during a segment on Raw a couple of weeks ago and challenged him to a match for the Raw women's title on the November 19th episode of Monday Night Raw

In the end, its up to WWE on whether they would want to do this or not, but it is something they have been teasing for awhile now. Furthermore, Corbin would really lose nothing by getting ass kicked by Rousey and it could be a very high profile moment for the guy that has been struggling to make a name for himself.

#4 Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt would be a great surprise pick to replace Braun Strowman at TLC!

There have been rumors of Bray Wyatt coming back to Monday Night Raw for some time now and while the company has yet to give any hint of that happening, they could use The Eater of Worlds as a replacement for Strowman at TLC. If nothing else, defeating Baron Corbin could be the start of a big face turn for Wyatt, which Raw needs right now.

Beyond helping Wyatt turn face, using him in this match also achieves the obvious goal of allowing Strowman to rest up after his surgery and not risk coming back too early. Not only would doing so possibly end any chance he has of WWE pushing him as the top guy, it also puts his rumored Royal Rumble title match in jeopardy as well.

In the end, WWE might be better off playing the waiting game and holding off on Bruan Strowman getting back in the ring too early. Furthermore, Bray Wyatt would be a serviceable substitute and it gives the company a chance to establish another face on the red brand, which is something they are lacking in right now.

#3 Elias

How would Elias fair in a match against Baron Corbin for control of Monday night Raw?

Let's be honest here

The WWE Universe wants to walk with Elias and that is exactly why he should be the one to rescue Monday Night Raw from the Baron Corbin's evil clutches. Of course this matchup probably won't win bout of the year or anything of that nature, but it puts a deserving superstar in a high profile spot and a chance to come out the hero.

Not only will that serve to establish Elias as WWE's next midcard babyface, it also opens up the possibility of a rivalry until Strowman is able to return. Keep in mind that this feud can help elevate both superstars, especially with their history with each other and could serve as a interesting story for WWE to tell.

Again, its not a perfect situation and it doesn't have the same star power that other superstars would have, but its another serviceable choice that will get the job done and allow Strowman to rest.

#2 Finn Balor

Finn Balor would be a great replacement for Finn Balor at TLC!

Another superstar that absolutely needs some momentum right now is Finn Balor, who has been on the losing end of many battles lately. Beyond that, he hasn't been used in a main event capacity for quite a while now, which is only continuing to hurt his stock within the company

With that being said and Balor and Corbin also having a history with each other, why not have Balor replace Strowman and fight for the future of Raw. The move would make a lot of sense, especially after Balor defended Kurt Angle's honor a couple weeks ago after McIntyre destroyed him during a match and would serve to give their storyline another layer

It could also serve as an meaningful moment for Balor that gets his career back on track and sets him up for a sizable push in the future. Maybe it could even be the start of a push towards winning the royal rumble match in January, which would finally give him a main event match for The Universal title at WrestleMania 35.

#1 Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle versus Baron Corbin for control of Raw. Who wins?

Nothing would compare to a Kurt Angle comeback!

Its probably that one trump card that WWE has right now and they woudl be crazy not to use it at TLC. Not only would it be a great way to raise the pay per view buy rates a bit, it is also the perfect ending to the storyline tension between Baron Corbin and Kurt Angle that has been going on for quite a while

Think about it! WWE had been teasing Baron Corbin and Kurt Angle going head to head for quite some time now and it would be the perfect end to their story. It might also serve as a huge moment in Baron Corbin's career if WWE books him to beat Kurt Angle, which would instantly establish as the top guy he was supposed to be a long time ago.

In the end, he is the overly obvious choice out of all of these superstars and should probably be inserted into the match against Corbin in Strowman's place. While the match might not end in a win for Corbin, especially with rumors of Alexa Bliss becoming the new Raw GM soon, it would be a profile raiser and would help set him up for better things.
