5 superstars that WWE should've drafted in the 2018 Superstar Shake-up 

If the 2018 Superstar Shake-up could be summarised in one quote, that saying would read “the tables have turned”. Usually, in the world of professional wrestling that means no car-crash carnage, but in this context, it implies that the blue brand has finally put together a star-studded roster that can indeed carry the blue brand through 2018.

While that is excellent news for the Smackdown Live fanatics, the Superstar Shake-up’s primary goal was to help many of WWE top stars thrive in a new environment after exhausting most of their booking options on either Monday Night Raw or Smackdown Live. These are drafts that could’ve made a significant impact on the brand or these superstar's careers, either way, these drafts should’ve happened in the Superstar Shakeup.

#1 Finn Balor

WWE has crafted the roster of Smackdown Live with the intention of making it a hardcore fan’s dream show, as indie legends such as Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan and Shinsuke Nakamura all hold high spots on the blue brand’s totem pole.

Therefore, WWE needed to draft one more fan favorite over to Smackdown Live, and that is Finn Balor. From Dream matches to memorable feuds, WWE could’ve rejuvenated Balor’s career over on Smackdown Live.

#2 Mustafa Ali

Mustafa Ali vs. Seth Rollins could've been a career-defining programme for the young star

One of the most significant missed opportunities from the Superstar Shakeup was the fact that no 205 Live superstars got promoted from the division to Smackdown Live or Raw. Furthermore, while some would say that the cruiserweights exist in their separate world, there is untapped potential just wasting away on the show.

One of those superstars is Mustafa Ali, 205 Live's resident is one of WWE’s young stars waiting to break the glass ceiling. Ali has the in-ring capabilities, the promo work, and charisma that could’ve seen him thrive on Raw.

The Boss could've redefined her image on the blue brand

When WWE announced that Sasha Banks would face Bayley on Raw this week, many wrestling fans knew that meant their intense feud would be concluding. Therefore, many expected either Banks or Bayley to make a move to Smackdown Live, and that draft unfortunately never happened.

In the case of Sasha Banks, that needed to happen, as after falling from grace on Raw for so many years, Banks needed a career-rejuvenating run on the blue brand. This move could’ve seen Sasha do some of the best work of her career as she is of the best wrestlers in the company today.

#4 Rusev

Rusev Day is a gold gimmick that would thrive on an average Raw roster

WWE has made it apparently clear that whether Rusev sells a ton of merchandise, receives electric reactions and puts on great matches in the ring, they don’t care about capitalizing on his success. Also, for many fans that is extraordinarily frustrating, as WWE is infamous for not pushing superstars that get ‘over’ themselves.

However, while Smackdown Live is a great place for Rusev, the number of megastars on the roster will certainly push him down the ladder of success on the blue brand. Therefore, Raw would’ve been the perfect place for Rusev to perfect his Rusev Day gimmick, as Raw lacks a genuinely underutilized megastar such as Rusev.

#5 Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch is being overlooked for far too long.

Its safe to say that Becky Lynch is one of the most underutilized wrestlers on the main roster, and that is hugely disappointing because she is a former Women’s Champion. Although Lynch is a part of the four horsewomen of WWE, she has been stuck playing second fiddle to Charlotte Flair for many months now.

WWE had the opportunity to change that in this Superstar Shakeup, as a move to Raw would’ve allowed Becky to rebuild her career as a beloved babyface or a disgruntled heel.
