After being away from WWE television for a long time, Rusev returned only to find out that his wife Lana has been having an affair with Bobby Lashley. This feud, which had countless dates, a divorce signing, and a wedding alongside the much-anticipated return of Liv Morgan, was not received well by the WWE Universe.

Despite the fact that this storyline managed to bring a lot of viewers on WWE’s YouTube channel, it did little to nothing to push any of the Superstars involved. Instead, the infamous rivalry between Lashley and Rusev went on for a little too long and had a disappointing end. This has unfortunately always been the case for Rusev.

He is often involved in good storylines but the creatives give up on him too soon. Rusev is naturally over with the crowd and WWE must make full use of his potential. The perfect way to go forward with the ‘Bulgarian Brute’ would be to build him up as an ideal replacement for Brock Lesnar and have him take over once the latter leaves. Not only will that save redeem Rusev’s WWE career but also it will help WWE in renewing their contract with him.
