When EC3 joined the NXT roster in January 2018, it would not have been too far-fetched to predict that he could one day hold the NXT Championship.

However, his run on the black and gold brand was relatively underwhelming, with the highlight being his rivalry with Velveteen Dream, and he ended up moving to RAW and SmackDown without much buzz in early 2019.

Although he picked up a quick victory over a departing Dean Ambrose, the former Impact star never really established himself on the main roster in the same way that fellow call-ups Lacey Evans, Lars Sullivan, Heavy Machinery and Nikki Cross did.

Now, eight months on from his first RAW appearance, EC3 has not been involved in any meaningful storylines and his “Top One Percent” character is proving to be anything but that at the moment. Granted, he is already a four-time 24/7 Champion but, in all honesty, that means absolutely nothing.

Moving forward, it feels like any storyline would be better than no storyline for EC3, which is why being picked last in the draft might not be such a bad thing. At least then, much like Mojo Rawley, his character would have some motivation to prove his RAW and SmackDown doubters wrong.
