5 superstars who could become the next Cruiserweight Champion

Maybe if the championship looked like this, champions wouldn't be leaving!
Maybe if the championship looked like this, champions wouldn't be leaving!

Yet another Cruiserweight Division main-eventer has made his way out of the company. Enzo Amore became the latest victim of the cursed Cruiserweight Division, as serious allegations against the Certified G superstar have led to his release.

One of the most overlooked divisions in WWE, 205 Live has a bunch of quality talents, who all have the potential to produce instant classics. 205 Live Events have also started on WWE tours and the inaugural one was a successful moment.

We look at five superstars who could fill the void left in by Enzo Amore.

#5: Mustafa Ali

Do yourself a favour and watch Ali v Neville if you haven't!
Do yourself a favour and watch Ali v Neville if you haven't!

One of the finest talents in WWE today, Mustafa Ali is a surprising exclusion from a list of foreign heels WWE has on the roster. WWE has a knack of giving non-Americans a stereotypical gimmick, such as Jinder Mahal and Rusev.

However, a natural babyface who wows the audiences with his performances every week, Mustafa Ali is a bright star who has the potential to become a household name. His performances are reminiscent of former light-heavyweight superstars in WCW.

Mustafa Ali as the champion will be a refreshing change after having two heels dominate the division for better part of 2017.

#4: Cedric Alexander

A complete package!
A complete package!

Ever since the Cruiserweight Classic aired back in summer of 2016, Cedric Alexander has been a massive fan favourite. He has been booked in a decent fashion as compared to the other superstars and is one of the few to have main-roster interactions. His act with Alicia Fox was somewhat interesting and now he has teamed up with Goldust.

Cedric was the number one contender for the cruiserweight championship before the events that unfolded recently, and hence a push for him to the top would not be surprising.

Cedric Alexander has all the tools to become a great superstar and his finisher is one of the best in WWE today!

#3: Drew Gulak

Plans for a better 205 Live: Drew Gulak as champion

Known as Gabba Gulak, Captain Underpants, he is the most interesting personality on whole of 205 Live. Drew Gulak is a charming superstar.

Drew Gulak as Enzo Amore's right-hand man brought out some of the most hilarious segments in WWE, and this has led WWE to notice Gulak's amazing talent. Chris Jericho made a piece of paper get over with the crowd, while Gulak has done the same with a Powerpoint Presentation.

Drew Gulak as Cruiserweight Champion will bring out some interesting segments and could even lead to crossovers with the main roster.

#2: Rockstar Spud.

Little Master!
Little Master!

Rockstar Spud is currently the shortest employed superstar in WWE. He is everything Enzo Amore was, and even has decent wrestling skills. Rockstar Spud was a great figure back in his TNA days, which caught WWE's attention.

Enzo Amore's departure has led to the division once again lacking a major personality, who can connect with the audiences. Spud has all the tools to fill in Enzo's shoes and take over the role of a corny heel.

Spud could well end up being the Five Feet of Fury in the cruiserweight division.

#1: Neville

The Man that We Did Not Forget!
The Man that We Did Not Forget!

Neville is one of the best wrestlers currently employed in WWE. He is definitely the best wrestler who is not currently appearing on television for reasons best known to him. Neville spearheaded the cruiserweight division for most of 2017, produced great matches from time-to-time and showed his masterclass while playing the role of heel to inch-perfect precision.

Neville has been in talks with WWE for a potential return, and the King coming back to save his subjects will be a delightful sight. Neville deserves to be in the main-event of not only 205 Live, but on the main roster in general.

Hopefully, WWE sort out the situation as soon as possible and bring back the King of Cruiserweights soon.
