5 superstars who could become The Shield's 4th member

The Shield are set to be reformed soon by WWE and hints of the same have already been dropped. Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins came to save Dean Ambrose from the hands of Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, Elias and Drew McIntyre on RAW and that was enough for the WWE Universe to go wild.

However, reports now suggest that WWE Creative are planning to add a 4th member to the team and it is set to happen very soon. The Shield has already named Joey Mercury as their 4th brother behind the scenes but now, it looks like they will actually be having a 4th brother on TV.

While Mercury is certainly not an option for the creative team to use, we take a look at 4 current superstars who could join forces with The Shield:

#5 – Finn Balor

There were way too many reasons why Balor might be the ideal candidate to be the 4th member of The Shield. The leader of the Balor Club has had an issue with every single one of the potential opponents for The Shield at Fastlane – Lashley, Corbin, Mcintyre, and Elias.

That should be more than enough to get the WWE Creative thinking as it would be very easy for them to get the storyline going. Moreover, Balor can pull the crowd just like The Shield and it would only make the fans even more interested to see how things go.

Another reason can be the possible departure of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. The duo's contracts are up soon and rumours suggest that WWE have no plans to keep them. If that is the case, Balor might as well team up with The Shield and have someone to watch his back all the time.

With the crowd behind them and the right storyline, Balor and The Shield can take WWE to greater heights.

#4 – EC3

EC3 has made his main roster debut but still has no storyline to work on. He faced Dean Ambrose twice on RAW in February, but that was about it. Building his as the 3rd member of The Shield would not be a bad option as he has all it takes to be a part of the stable.

The former NXT star is good on the mic, is an extremely talented wrestler with rich experience, and also has the physique. He can fit into The Shield with ease and can be the powerhouse along with Roman Reigns.

EC3, like every member of The Shield, has the capability of pulling the crowd and that is extremely important to be a part of the big stable in the WWE. And with him taking on Dean already, the Lunatic Fringe can be the one to push for his case with Reigns and Rollins if needed.

#3 – Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt has faced The Shield when he was leading the Wyatt family and now that he is waiting for a storyline to get back on TV, it might be ideal to join forces with his former opponents.

Wyatt returned from his injury at Starrcade late last year and has been rumoured to make a comeback for a long time. The WWE Universe was expecting him to replace Strowman in the match at TLC but that never happened. The next guess was that he would be returning at the Royal Rumble but that too never happened.

Now that WWE is looking for a 4th member of The Shield, Wyatt might just be squeezed in. Nothing right now indicates that the 4th member of the faction needs to be sticking around with Roman, Rollins, and Dean for a long time and the creative team should take this opportunity to bring the Eater of the Worlds back on TV.

#2 – Braun Strowman

They have faced each other but now it might be time to team up! Just like Balor, Strowman too has an issue with every single one of the potential opponents at Fastlane – Lashley, Corbin, Mcintyre, and Elias.

The Monster Among Men was put through TWO tables at Elimination Chamber during a No Disqualification Match vs Baron Corbin. Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley had also joined the former GM-Elect to put Strowman through the tables.

WWE Creative have a very easy way of adding the 2018 Money in the Bank winner to The Shield and they might just take it. There are no reports that suggest that the 4th member of The Shield will be a long term one and adding Strowman might be the ideal short-term solution to make the fans happy and boost the Fastlane viewership.

#1 – Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle has already been a part of The Shield and might just be the one to join them once again. The Olympic Gold medalist is reportedly set to retire at WrestleMania 35 and it would be fitting to end his career on a high.

Like I mentioned in the slide for Strowman and Wyatt, WWE is just thinking of using a 4th member in The Shield.

Nothing has been mentioned that they will be a part of the fraction for a long time, and to be honest, a long term partner might not be ideal for The Shield as the trio are more than enough to run the place.

Angle has had an issue with Corbin and might be added to the fraction to get that one final revenge on the former General manager elect before leaving the company.
