Johnny Gargano may be the babyface in this scenario but he should also be considered the biggest suspect in the attack. The former Tag Team Champion had an altercation with Black a few weeks ago when he delivered the Black Mass to Gargano, a shot that he stated that he deserved before they went one-on-one last week.

Gargano looked past Black in his NXT Championship match against Ciampa and cost him the title when he interfered in the match. It's obvious that Gargano's issues with Ciampa are far from over and he could easily have attacked Black to ensure that he gets his former friend one-on-one in Brooklyn.

Gargano was spotted at Full Sail the night of the attack when he was coming back into the building, and could easily have attacked the former NXT Champion just minutes before.
